I can vouch for Lii Audio drivers as well. I have the slightly older flagship, Crystal 10 drivers in OB with GRS-15PF-8 helper woofers. Even iPhone recordings give you an idea of how good these sound. I am VERY happy with them.

Dear Mr. Pass,I have a pair of the Lii silver 10's and I consider them very good, in fact they are currently in my primary system. They do require some EQ, what you would call "baffle step", but they have great articulation and are revealing of amplifier character.

I am writing you because I am wondering what quality coils people are using for the BSC of the Silver 10 drivers.
I am planning to use a 2,5mH with a 8ohm resistor.
1. What is the value of the coil that you are using?
2. What quality coil will be sufficient?
Please find attached two options for me, do you think the air core is sufficient or can I better go for the wax coil? I think the Silver 10 are very revealing drivers and it might be audible.
Best Regards,

Isnt "baffle step" a property of the enclosure rather than the driver?I have a pair of the Lii silver 10's and I consider them very good, in fact they are currently in my primary system. I use an active filter, very simple, having two resistors and a capacitor followed by a jfet buffer, this between amp and preamp.Dear Mr. Pass,

Any decent coil in parallel with a resistor can do a similar job, but does reduce the damping factor. I suggest playing with the values - mine was set to transition around 2 kHz to -5 dB or so.
I referred to it as a "baffle step" because it's the same sort of filter, just slightly different values.
Thank you Sir 😎I use an active filter, very simple, having two resistors and a capacitor followed by a jfet buffer, this between amp and preamp.

For a passive BSC circuit, just good quality aircoils are good, no need for special esotheric stuff as it does not really matter. And as Lii drivers are low wattage, a 20 AWG thick wire for the coil is more than good enough. So something like this would be good enough:

Please take in account that the coil also has a resistance (the dcr) and calculate that in your BSC circuit.

For 300USD you can buy Eminence coaxial combo Beta 10CX 10" bass + ASD1001 screw-on tweeter including stock crossovers 2k5cx. Works quite good, tons of references on this forum use the search. Not sure about the box in the video though.
I have old Philips AD4000 alnico drivers. I cannot use them because of waf issues. But they were sound very very good with small class A amps.
