In the second measurement the DAC is fed by similar LDO. I have not measured the LDO output on that DAC as the end result is what matters.

On my crappy board it'll make no difference at all and I can use whatever LTxxxx I want.

Did anybody of you guys actually heard or messured this particular board I posted? Because to me it seems to be a way newer version than the other boards from the beginning of this thread.

You can tell from the picture that it shares the same design as the original board in this thread. Only 1 op amp which practically dictates the inferior voltage output mode. Regulators seem to be 7805 and AMS1117 which means that it does not help much to have better regulators feeding the board.
it will definitely make a difference, only that there are probably other significant bottlenecks in the design, at least according to measurements
My recommendation would be to not waste any time on it, unless it was more about learning electronics than building a quality dac, worth your time and money invested.

When I got a working DAC/Streamer Combo with volume control and playing direct DSD I think I will be satisfied.
And maybe I'll have a look around here in the forum to see what's next. :-D
It's more a fun project and of course for the learning effect too. I'm new to this forum and didn't have to do much with the electronic parts on pcb boards.

Ideally, you want to look around to see what's first, as in what is the bottleneck in sound reproduction. It's in the speakers and room acoustics.
Why concern yourself with what others think ? You are the one who is going to listen to it. If it is good enough for you, fine. If not, mod it, if that interests you or try another dac.
What about those who listen to it to their liking and then post claims about it on forums like this one?
I can't get my head around your posts on here or why you bother. If nothing is subjective to you why bother with worrying about this forum.... which I seem to gather is about making hi fi sound as good as possible
