as a german I think I should be proud of beeing the scum of the earth.
Just think of how many Hollywood blockbusters would not have been as successfull without the germans beeing the bad guys. StarWars/DarthVader to name just one.

It's a natural reaction from our prevailing world paradigm to dismiss those over-unity generator videos as a hoax, but it would be prudent to also come up with an explanation on how they did carry out the stunt trick.
The only explanation I can come up with is that the connection box on top of the motor and the phase cap (which isn't actually required when an external force is helping to start the motor in any direction as required) on the side could hold a battery and some circuit the feeds the motor, the thick bottom plate could be hollow and hold much more but there are no visible cables running from it.
At 19:43 the presumable patent is flashed, but the registration number is obscured, Tineye couldn't, or doesn't want to show anything.

Absolute nonsense. There are enough good explanations out there as to why this cannot happen - look on YT.
The only interest in this for me is curiosity as to how the perpetrator manages to mislead his audience.
And I am sure some of them are totally honest and believe they beat the physical universe.

I have mentioned the Star Wars series has drawn on some aspects of Hinduism, including thought projection and cremation of dead bodies as a method of disposal.
I will not comment on German thinking processes, we have many politicians in India who are known for confusing statements.
Milo Minderbinder is a perfect name for some of them.
Here we had a Narmada Dam project, which was stalled by people who were receiving foreign funds. When asked for an explanation, they ran away. In 1995 or so.
So if the Russians influenced the German public through Greenpeace that gas was a better alternative, compared to nuclear, in order that the country become dependent on Russian gas, rather than nuclear, I can only say the Greenpeace people were perhaps corrupt.
But bearing in mind that the country is densely populated, and a nuclear accident would be a disaster, maybe the Germans decided to abandon the projects for public safety reasons.
They could have had plants built by the French near their borders, and France has a good safety record in nuclear power.
That was a possible alternative, but like I said, I do not keep track of events there.

OK all you clever people, why are the turbine blades on modern large wind turbines so narrow? It always seems to me that 95%+ of the wind just goes straight past. Are the smaller tree like multi fan setups able to produce more electricity for a given SQ M of blade span?

Whilst storage is an issue, for now at least, renewables can be a major source of energy generation. Overlapping forms of generation, or a country wide energy sharing plan would no doubt help.

It's not like the wind 'pushes' the blade to make it turn. The force that makes the blades spin is generated just like the force generated on an airplane wing.
Due to the wing/blade profile, the air pathlength on one side is different from the other side. Since the wind going over one side of the blade/wing needs to join the other side mass at the same time, the wind on the longer pathway needs to speed up. That results in lower air pressure on that side, so the blade/wing gets pushed by the difference in air pressure between the two sides.
That generates the force.
So it's a complex function of wind speed, blade/wing profile and rotational speed (airspeed for a plane).
That's the reason why windmill blades are changing their angle and rotation speed with windspeed, to prevent damage while still maintain generating efficiency.

Actually blade design is taught in Fluid Mechanics, and like above, in a real life situation, variable pitch blades are needed.
You can learn a lot about this by reading about propellers / air screws in aircraft, the new scimitar shapes are quite different.
Windmills have systems to protect the blades during stormy weather, excess wind speed and also during maintenance.
The newest wind turbines in off shore North Sea are also a newer design.

This could have happened in a coal plant.

Cheap fuel, a relatively high income, and suburban life...30 year mortgage at 4% was unheard of in the rest of the world.
So people moved out of the cities.
Bear in mind also that a lot of this happened after WWII, and a lot of people moved to the then new fields of defense and civilian aircraft manufacturing.
Families shifted from the Eastern states to the new areas like Burbank, Seattle and so on.
Today you have very high real estate prices in the cities worth living in, and crime rates in some other places are beyond belief.
Hopefully, the Covid pandemic taught people to be frugal..and how to travel less.
