This is possible the best news regarding tubes since, well, at least pre 1980, so I thought I'd best post a link here in order try to help generate as many submissions to Western Electric as possible. https://www.westernelectric.com/expand
The more submissions they get, the better chance we have of them again going into production again. As they say, they already have the tooling & machines necessary, so come on guys, get your submission in & share this around the world. Cheers

Oh yes, & many of the types we would like to see produced in the USA. 12AX7, EL34, 6L6, 6V6, EL84, 6H30, KT88, 274B.
Go to the link I provided & scroll to the bottom of the page, click on I'm Interested to get to the submission page provided. We really do want Western Electric to receive as many submissions as is possible, the more they receive, the better our chances of them again going into production. Cheers

I registered too. But realistically, as much as I’d like to spend my $ in a country of choice I ain’t willing to pay through the nose. I think JJ is a good choice.
I signed up for updates and provided a list. I suspect it will take them a while to tool up and figure out how to make them. They won't be cost competitive with Russian or Chinese made commodity type tubes, but they could do very well with some power DHTs, and high transconductance dual triodes.
The Soviet tube I care about the most is 6F12P.Ummm, how much is a WE 12AX7, KT88, 6L6GC ..... going to cost? $$$$

I have an amp that uses 12GE5 already... nice tube. Same as 12GT5 and 12AV5GA but different bases.
Elrog tubes aren't in my budget and neither is WE 300b but I'm not going to begrudge anyone for how they spend their money.Ummm, how much is a WE 12AX7, KT88, 6L6GC ..... going to cost? $$$$
The Soviet tube I care about the most is 6F12P.
6F12P IS an interesting tube, with triode and pentode sections nearly the same gm and mu. I have traced a few here.
I would check out 6KV8 (also 6LQ8, 6KR8, 6LY8) similar, but the triode section is lower gm. Pin-out is 9DX base.
I don't think anything matches the 6F12P pin-out.
6L6, think about it. The 6L6 is in almost every great guitar amp and many good HIFI's. If there ever was a tube to compromise on, I think this is the one to start with followed by the el34, then 12ax7..... History repeating?
I'm sharing the link with all my music industry friends, let's stay positive I think it will be done. How about a venture in Australia?

Most of those video output pentodes are pretty nice. As triodes, pentodes, followers, you name it. The KV8 is the one that also has a “good” triode in with it. The JW8 triode is nice too - but the pentode is low current.I would check out 6KV8 (also 6LQ8, 6KR8, 6LY8) similar, but the triode section is lower gm. Pin-out is 9DX base.
The 6F12P and ECL86 don't have the same pinout.I think ECL86 is the same pinout but completely different obviously 🙂
As far as I know, you can just order them at this point. This is possible the best news regarding tubes since, well, at least pre 1980, so I thought I'd best post a link here in order try to help generate as many submissions to Western Electric as possible. https://www.westernelectric.com/expand

AudioXpress has commissioned an extensive test for their may issue, see attached.
Very good results, keep a eye out for it.
IIRC $ 600 a pop.

They say right there on the linked page that their factory is equipped to produce multiple tube types, so quite possibly (or hopefully) the tube types they listed are among the types they are equipped to produce. CheersI suspect it will take them a while to tool up and figure out how to make them.
They are talking about producing valves other than the 300B. Read the linked page properly, or read my second post above properly. CheersAs far as I know, you can just order them at this point.
