New page design

I use multiple forums across a wide range of subjects that use a wide range of software so I've not had any issues getting on with the upgrade. And it IS an upgrade.

The only thing I'm waiting (patiently) for is the max number of posts per page to be raised to 50 again. Its probably just a psychological thing but a 1000 post thread with 50 pages of 20 posts seems more of a slog than 20 pages of 50 posts 🤣

JRKO Yes, also it helps to have more posts on a page when looking for information, when replying to multiple posts and when coming back to a thread the next day so you don't have to go looking for the second last or third last page so often.

Its sad to see how the forum is still not integrated properly with the google search engine. Infact i think its gotten even more disconnected from it seeing as how a search term only results in one link instead of multitudes like in the past. And clicking on those links still doesnt take me to the right thread page. Is it possible to see a fix soon?

This is good information about a not so good situation. I think the best action is to break this into specifics, and create a thread in the "list of things to do" forum... which is here - https://www.diyaudio.com/community/forums/new-platform-issues.191/

The search system was recently changed to a flexible style. It would be good to have feedback on how it works with people as well as how it works with google.

Thanks Allen. Ill try it there. Tbh i never bothered with the forum search engine over the superior google one. Even now my search term 'diamond buffer 3h' turns up zero results here vs two thru google 🙁

Yes, please start a discussion in https://www.diyaudio.com/community/forums/new-platform-issues.191/ as these are new issues. The new search is orders of magnitude better, and faster, the the old one, and has been very well received. Allowing a Google search option might be a nice addition but I look forward to focusing on specifics in your dedicated thread on the topic. As for links in the search results (on diyAudio) not taking you to the right page, that's a new issue that hasn't been reported before. Please ensure you include some examples.

I don't think he's talking about allowing a Google search option on the site. He's saying that the results from this site when searching in Google itself have been degraded from the old site, i.e., the SEO is worse for diyaudio now than previously.
