Raing system. Do you mean the stars? They have been there for a long time, perhaps a bit more up-front now, but only indicates whether the member has donated to the financial health of the forum.
There is a glitch which can have 2 stars instead of just the last one shown.
Likes were a heaviliy discussed with very mixed feelings about them, so they are under test to see if/how it will be abused.

This thread started in another context, in which the way I wrote it would be better understood. So let me explain why it rubbed me the wrong way.
For me, the value of a post is what is in it and how it contributes to further understanding. So, some members post little, but always with well founded and interesting posts. They would score low. Others write faster than they can think. Would they score higher?
I am worried for the dynamics this might create. People see a competition in everything, every rating system starts a race. Apparently I am only human also, and I don't want to be sucked into a competition I don't want.

If you click on your name you will see that you are a lowly level one, like me.
Don't know where the gold an silver went. Things appear in flux.

Back before we switched software there was talk of ratings or rankings. The idea was to allow newbs to know who might be the wise old grey beards of the forum, people to trust for advice. Some forums I'm on show the post count right with the avatar. That at least gives you a sense of the person's experience and longevity.
It's not easy to do or get right. But how else are new folks on the forum supposed to know if the person answering has any experience at all?

Afai understand the functionality is not implemented in Diyaudio but is part of the general layout/fonctionality of XF.
Up to Jason and the mod team to choose to implement it or not within Diyaudio.
For now 'likes' are implemented as a test for one week (to see the outcome) but there is no ranking.
There have been discussion about this as all members does not agreed with the like function and previous ranking of threads.
To be honest i don't think the spirit of the forum will really change with the new features ( even more if not implemented like the ranking) and the focus of mod team is to make valuable info search easier.
I trust them.

The idea of providing some guidance to newbees for valuable, trustworthy posts is a good one. But a 'like' system doesn't help there, because it doesn't say diddly about the value of a post, if any.
It doesn't help a newbee to separate the chaff from the corn.
Some sticky threads like the LTspice user thread are much more effective.

Correct. That has all been discussed. No one has yet come up with a good system, it's up to Jason to figure out and test what he wants to do.
On a Dutch valve radio forum, they once did an experiment where one could indicate oneself what ones level of experience was. I didn't know what to fill in, because I have enough experience with electronics, but only limited experience with repairing and none with restoring valve radios. Apparently it didn't work for others either, because the ratings were soon gone again.
Yep. I am in the same boat. I hate to see that diyAudio is going this route.
What I even hate more is that there were discussions with very good arguments against the "like" buttons. The meaning of "like" is not what the makers of diyAudio want and intend (marking the quality of a post or thread). I will not repeat the many arguments, but I'd like to repeat that the "like" system causes quite the opposite of flagging quality.

I disagree. The "Like" button will eliminate thousands of posts that only contain "+1"...
