I'm no troll.So you're trolling then?
And that term is so overused, it's another boring internet staple.
Since when is it mandatory to "go with the flow" of others or else?
Last I knew, Freedom is something you were born with, and seems these days like a dreadful disease.
Re post # 18 AHHHHHHH!!! Kittens!! There's always one.
One of the reasons I like building valve amps is the aesthetic appeal of the humble valve. They're works of art not to mention cunning artifice. When they glow a nice colour it's even better. Some bloke said it better "what is life if full of care if you have no time to stand and stare" Staring at pretty glowing valves is like staring into a fire; there's something atavistic, a deep calling to our souls. Still, if someone disagrees, that's cool. What we like defines us, what we dislike too.
Andy.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and now that they have been expressed let's get on with the pretty pictures... (
Friendly warning, to all concerned.)

i like "glowing" tubes; the Eimac 35TG is an example.
This nice transmitter tube/triode sounds great and looks the part when switched on.
Only 5V/4A filament.....but with B+ (800+ V) the anode comes to live properly.
Of course this will be dwarfed by the GEMA TS6, a German radar tube from 1940-194, which has an interesting filament requirement: 2V/31A (no joke; the filament is in fact a set of parallel ribbons !).
A collegae is trying to built an amp with these; i'll keep you posted.
For comparison a TB04/8 (is the same as the VT191 but with a 6A filament) is next to the TS6.

My space heater consumed over 500 watts of power to make 2 X 30 watts of audio from a pair of 211's or 845's driven into A2 by 45's in a prototype TSE board. This was built about 20 years ago before the TSE or Tubelab the company existed. My construction quality at that time was scrap pine boards, an old street sign left in the yard by a hurricane, black spray paint, and sheet rock screws. It put so much heat into my little room that even with central air conditioning and the window AC I could only run it for an hour or so before the room got too hot to be in, especially in the south Florida summer. Eventually I decommissioned it and stole its power supply choke. Now than I have moved 1200 miles north it's heat would be useful since it has been below freezing for several days with several more to come. Sadly, it has not seen power in over 10 years. Someday I'll fire it up and see what happens. My space heater/amplifiers.

Wonder what the deal is with the gassy WE 376? I have one with that exact same issue. Also a very nice looking Telefunken RS-(something or other) that is similar to a 211.
RCA 808I agree don't give the trolls the space they demand. This forum is about people that love everything about tubes including their glow. By the way Asnakeon what tube is that.
I also have a pair of 845 monoblocs with 96Watts on the plate and high voltage but it overheat the living room. I've downsized to a more manageable 100-150 watts per mono blocs X 6 been a 3 ways active system. My space heater consumed over 500 watts of power to make 2 X 30 watts of audio from a pair of 211's or 845's driven into A2 by 45's in a prototype TSE board. Did this end up turning into anything? I have two of these that I hope to do something with someday.
Yes, see here. It wasn't the best 100T variant that I tried, but it was plenty good enough to make great music.Did this end up turning into anything? I have two of these that I hope to do something with someday.
If I showed up at Sturgis and went around expressing disdain for "motorcycle fashion," I'd expect a bit of a hostile reaction. This isn't hard to predict.
