I need to make a seat mold for myself and I'm trying to figure out witch type of expanding foam makes the most sense. Not concerned with fire retardation since this isn't for a race car. Just something that sets up quickly and is at least somewhat durable. It would be nice if there's some flexibility/softness to it but it's not critical. Does anyone have experience or suggestions?
dont use expanding foam.
it sets to a hardish product that has zero give until it breaks and crumbles.
either find a foam supplier, mattress maker, furniture reconditioner, or use a cushion/pillow.

I need expanding. Will have an internal skeleton for support and a layer of soft foam on top (the face that is against the body). It's in essence a racing seat but not exactly. Anyway, I found some Smooth-On stuff that looks like it will do the job.
Avoid polyurethane foam which turns into poo over time as it absorbs moisture (it's what foam speaker surround used to be made of).
