What are you using to do this? Browser OS etc. Doesn't seem to happen for most regular users so might be specific to your combo of apps.
I use the Windows Edge browser.
It would be great if the section to which a post belongs (just to the right of the original poster name) could be larger font when browsing new posts - it's really teeny at the moment, and I always found it useful to choose posts to read.
HiDon't know if mentioned already, but can the attached pictures thumbnails made to be more in focus?
If you mean the Avatar-Thumbnail, I had the same issue. The pic appeared cut by half.
I looked at my profile where the Avatar-Image can be uploaded. There one can found the advice, that the picture should have "...at least 400x400 pix..." So, after uploading my new (larger, 640x400 pix) image all is fine...🙂
greetings
@grindstone This is interesting because I can't see the fast refresh of the front page. I'm getting one new thread about every 3 minutes, and the post list is stuck at the same place for over 5 hours.
I've tried with my account, a test user account, not logged in, a mobile phone, a different browser and all cookies cleared. Why are some people seeing a distracting update while I can't see it at all?
Here's a vid. I think it's a handy feature, as are a lot of the features folks want to change.
EDIT: The home page (all posts) is a live view. If you go to New Posts, that's a static view that's personalized for the user. One is intended to see what's going on at-a-glance, and the other is better for browsing through a static list pre-filtered by 'unread'.
All the XenForo forums I've been on have a New Posts as a button on the top nav. The menu and nav choices made here are more than a bit odd, considering how XenForo is designed - it's bit of bucking the new and trying to replicate the old, which bastardizes a lot of the UX.

Thanks @JP. Your video is a little faster than what I see, but that must depend on how often posts come thru. I certainly don't see that pace as frenetic, but maybe others do.
Do you seem similar updates on the "User Posts" tab/page?
I added a bit to my response. No, not frenetic, but should track rather close to actual activity by what the video shows - some came in within a few seconds of each other.
I don't know what the "User Posts" page is - what's the url?
No, I meant attached pics in posts. Not hosted pics between text but the little uploaded ones under the text.Hi

Now they are bigger thumbnails with their names showing as well. Bigger and more descriptive is nice.
But although they used to be smaller in the previous platform they were also cleaner previews. After blown up with a click they get as clean as they used to be uploaded, no complaints there.
@Pano never mind, I found it. User Posts does not appear to be updating live.I added a bit to my response. No, not frenetic, but should track rather close to actual activity by what the video shows - some came in within a few seconds of each other.

I was initially put off by the slickness of the presentation but that went away quickly.
I have found the SEARCH function is vastly improved and that is greatly appreciated.
Well done.

+1 for the active search bar.
And now that someone helped with "Jump to new", I have pretty much everything I need! Thanks again!

I have seen it a few times. It is annoying.

The avatars on the left are 48x48 pixels, the larger one 96x96. If you want to keep the image from having artifacts upload that size.

Reporting 2 problems:
1) on the formatting line on top of answers, it only shows:
Bold
Italic
Strike Through (which was not visible on the old version)
It does NOT show far more important Underlined.
I could FORCE it by using Ctrl+U but that takes us back to the pre-internet text only BBS days.
2) clicking the "mountains" "add image" icon the pendulum fully swang the other way: now it allows me to directly paste an image I have in my own computer (GREAT feature) but does NOT allow me to link to an externally hosted image (the old "universal" way), WTF???
Again, I can FORCE it by manually typing the [ img ] labels around it, same comment as above.
3) while typing the answer, the "preview post" function has also disappeared. WTF?
We shouldn´t be doing so much manual work.
A few of us "grumpy old men" have been weaned on old DOS days (or UNIX) and remember our way around by using keyboard only commands ... not sure modern users like or know that.

Thanks for having the dedication to solve these new quirks.
For #2, there should be a tab to insert by URL in the insert modal. For some reason it's been disabled here.
It was miserable until I switched to Classic theme. 👍
Clicking on thread shows unread posts is superb

Valid point. The issue with signatures is technical. But we can bump you up to two lines if it really bothers you. It's funny. I thought if I pay for something for a year, then I'll get it for a year too, not just for 3 months.
It's not about the money, I like to support the forum, it's just the principle. But I take note, and will keep still.
I'll add the "Underline" option to our list to consider (problem arises that there is limited real estate but we need to triage the icons).1 and 3:

We have deliberately disabled "insert by URL" and will take further steps to prevent that. We have a considerable and ongoing problem with link rot and will be advocating for users to paste or upload images to the site rather than linking them from other sites which might delete them or break those links etc.
That's a screenshot. Are you asking for the text to be wider (e.g. less whitespace at the margins?). I might be a bit slow on the uptake here TBH.Voilá.
Does it happen if you try another browser? And does it always happen on edge (e.g. every time)? Other than that we will need to go down the "disable plugins and clear cache route" TBH.I use the Windows Edge browser.
Is there a way to make everything smaller on the screen ? I only get the about 7 threads come up on the homepage, used to get maybe 20 - 30 ??
