I really liked the previous way that the forum would go to the first unread post when you clicked on a thread. I don't see that same functionality with the new forum setup.
It is there and that is how it is working, but right now all the posts are unread because the new forum doesn't know what you read on the old one. Over time as you read stuff you'll see the behaviour you expect.

I am 50+. Having a bit difficulty reading this new site, compared with the old sire, because:

1) The font is (too) thin . It could be better to have more thickness.

2) space-wise :: less content are shown on the same CRT/LCD screen estate compared with the old site. It's particularly worse when reading on not-so-modern mobile screen which has < 6-inches screen size,

Also, it would be good (for eyes and energy saving) to have "dark mode" display.

Agree to previous posters on efficiency. Personally, I always liked the old compact and efficient layout and navigation of the front page and the subforums (even on a mobile) which now has suffered but the new/modern features will quickly outweigh this. Information-centric vs. feature-centric, pick you poison ;-)

Classic theme makes the transition a bit easier but it requires a login which I don't do unless I really want to post something (previously it was required to see attachments which always was a bummer). Maybe make the classic theme the default?

Thanks for upgrade. Looks and functions good. (Have switched to classic theme though)
1) Not extremely important but how about little increase in Avatar pictures (In the thread not on front page). I suppose the use for avatar is when scrolling the thread the poster gets easily identified by picture than the name.
2) The clickable down arrow to show when joined; the time when joined gets truncated. (Again not important though) (Only date can be put which will look clutter free)
3) What does the star in circle represent ?
thanks and regards

I have made the fonts small and changed to classic view and I'm now getting more content on the screen thus needing less scrolling which is good and the 'old screen colours are comfy!

I don't see any nationality flags which I found very useful. Especially in thr swap meet where it gave you an instant idea of shipping maybe viable or not.

Good work all round people. Must have been a huge task. I was/am sceptical of new forum platforms but I (don't really!) Understand the need to progress!

I'm sure we will all get into it.

Regards "unreadable" are you talking specifically about the front page or when viewing an actual thread?
Me again. Maybe this is more constructive. The readability is about the visual elements that compete for attention and the visual workload. Here's a set of darks to compare the Klipsch board and here. Here, two columns of vertical graphical elements immediately demand attention and that's the flow--two columns getting in the way of even processing the first content. Our eyes have to fight-off both, and then return to the text at left which continually competes with that left-most graphic. The Klipsch board has it kind of muted so that it doesn't compete with what we want to read. The brightness/size of the text is more of a "set" on the Klipsch stuff.

I know it's different for different devices and magnifications and themes and room brightness and all of the variations, but the Klipsch thing "flows" better and your eyes don't have to readjust from bright to dark and so on. They waste more space to display less, but at that top-level, it's more readable. The size of all the graphical elements demands too much attention and continually pulls eyes off of the text. IMO, this applies both to the front page and to the threads. Klipsch's commits the same sin on the avatars (RH column) that demand attention, but it's much easier to ignore once identified (both sets should be reduced, etc).

Lastly, just sincere thanks for all you do and for this place. It's a remarkable thing you've created. The fact that it even runs at all is amazing let-alone the last two days' changes.

Good job, nice apparance. My only remark is also about the avatars. The old avatar shape was a rectangle with 5:4 ratio or so. The new shape is a square, and the left side of all avatars is cropped. Would it be possible to restore the old aspect ratio? And perhaps have an option to view the original avatar picture in full size by clicking on it.
