You missed my point, especially after claiming yesterday that I missed your point. 🙄
I saw the derogatory phrase you used before editing out. Perhaps you need some chill pill.
Perhaps you need to go somewhere else to troll.
Me too. The extreme weather (hot and cold) dry out the caulk and shrink any gaskets. Two outlets face the south with zero shade at any time of day. Ten years is all I get.
I use that GE Silicone dark grey caulk for outdoor use.
I sealed up the crack between my front steps and doorway back in 2008, and it's still good.
It seems better than the standard GE white or clear stuff that's for indoor use like sealing around the bathtub.
Forget the standard latex type caulk.

I have seen mechanics using engine oil as soldering flux, ever heard about or tried that?
They say it is more effective than rosin paste.
Snake oil, or useful tip?

Useful tip.
If the engine oil was described as quantum nano solder serum, treated by exposure to a secret process that involved bombarding the oil with radio waves of a specific wavelength that is uniquely able to rearrange the molecular structure and alter the quantum properties, and (very importantly) was a bargain at only €798 per 5ml phial, THAT would be snake oil.

Good question.
Used engine oil is acidic, so it might work.
Useful tip.

You said quantum twice, and nano once, so it's definitely snake oil. 😛
Hello,
Used oil, a better description:
Specially heat treated oil with extra degraded additives, in a special high pressure process. Done over time and with metal particles added to enhance its properties.
Should be worth big dollars.

Marketing at its finest.
Charge more for that.metal particles added to enhance its properties
"Burned in"? 😀
You only burn in wires and cables.
Once hooked up the the fancy and expensive "burner" you crank it till the wires glow deep red.... voila... finished! 😱
But not vacuum tubes? OK.You only burn in wires and cables.
