I am overwhelmed, I have no words to describe the sound. Maybe I'm excited about the first audition but I think it's the best sound I've heard so far.
I didn't have the patience to mount some fans, they now work without a lid. the temperature is maintained at 55 celsius. I will follow your advice and I will mount 20 cm PC fans! It's worth all the money, I've already put the Accuphase Pro 20 up for sale.

even 12cm, nice one, will do Ton of difference
tell us more, especially about speakers you're using
then upstream ......
hey zenmod
say if I need a single ended of this vfet but only around 15w. is it possible and still optimal? I just loathe the idea of this huge a heat dissipation

choke instead of Mu Follower in upper half ....... no way of just decreasing voltages and Iq, big Tokin will be simply starved
with that, dissipation will go to 50% of existing one
though, THD will rise up, for some amount
and - I wouldn't do it with passive biasing,I'll use some sort of active bias mechanismus
for more info look around , Boyz already did it with choke load

Beautiful build! And I’m 100% with you on the sound. It’s definitely king of my amp mountain 🙂
Hello builders,
Please check out my sales ad for SBush components in the Swap Meet. I also have an sales ad for some 2SK180's.
Thanks,
MM

In my anxiousness to get some caps for SB 3 and 4 I bought four pin snap ins thinking they would work with ZM's cap bank boards with a simple clipping of the extra leads and now that I have them in hand I see that is not the case.
Hope DIGIKEY will take them back!
Enthusiasm can get you in trouble - though it is amazing to see the inventories going down with every day.
Digikey has no 2 pin snap ins 10mF/80 volts. Not until January.

I can remember returning capacitors in the past - they should take them back. You might consider this one: 399-19605-ND. They appear to be in stock too.
They DO look good.
I had dismissed them thinking they were the slit foils.
Could one place caps in the top and bottom of the boards if that would not cause too much consternation in the layout? Not for me but then I am weird.
Do not have one in front of me but wondering if using the diagonal on each side would just fit?
ZM, any chance?

yes, you can ...... but - that level of improvisation - only you can say yay
just checked on pcb file, it is doable
though - see my previous post , and be fast
just in case, recheck their dimensions ....... I did searched for 10mF/80-100v, snap -in, 2 pins, up to 35mm Dia
Those KEMETs you mentioned are the slit foils which I am using for the output coupling cap. Some people are brave enough to use them in power supplies but the one time I tried with the MORECROFT they did not work. The caps were destroyed just from being turned on.
Since I got those that will not work from DIGIKEY and they were kind enough to take them back I am getting the caps recommended by Cody from them.
I am getting enough for all of the amplifiers and I do not mind the fact I must insert them in the boards unconventionally. Of course, you should know I prefer that.
Thanks for the help!
PS for those that play with computer audio - last night I installed a Mutec 3+usb between my simple slow computer (on purpose slow - slow equals quiet) and my DAC and what it did for the sound was hard to believe. I thought my digital system was sounding pretty good.
Astounding is another of those words that has been overused into meaninglessness but that is what it was.
