First of all, please read my post here, and see the pictures:
https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/pass-labs/370689-diy-sony-vfet-builders-thread-202.html
I am listing what I have below. I bought these from a sony repairman who assured me the VFETs are all good. I will carefully test each one and post the results here, ASAP. Give me a few days to test them with utmost care.
I would like to sell them for 135 USD each pair, given the scarcity, the demand and given that I much need the money at this time.
This is a preliminary list, subject to change according to test results and buyer interest:
1 complementary set, rank 55, price 270 USD (reserved to volpar)
1 complementary set, rank 55, price 270 USD (volpar?)
2 pairs of 2SK60, rank 55, price 270 USD (triode_al?)
1 pair of 2SK60, rank 56, price 135 USD
1 pair of 2SK60, rank 45, price 135 USD
1 pair of 2SJ18, rank 52, price 135 USD
1 pair of 2SK60, one is rank 57, the other is either 53 or 58 (faded lettering), this is T.B.D. by test.
I also have to figure out shipping and insurance cost, and set up paypal because I haven't used it in years. Payment after I have test results AND everything figured out. I will keep you posted here.
Thanks,
Alex

When I am done testing, I will post a close up picture of each device with the test result.
Thanks,

edit: rest assured that I will respect the PM order, first come first serve of course, I might take a while to respond now that I have a lot to do.
Patrick (itsallinmyhead) asked me to reserve the following for him:
1 pair of 2SK60, rank 56, price 135 USD
1 pair of 2SJ18, rank 52, price 135 USD
Thanks,
Alex

Starting the test with the P channel parts, this will go quickly now. The test jig that I've built is not exactly the one I posted before (the voltages are different, the measurement R is 2 ohms).
I pick a pair of parts to measure. I connect a part, adjust the pot to get aproximately 200mA flowing through the channel, then I see the current starts dropping slightly (negative temperature coefficient, a thing of beauty). Disconnect this part, and measure the other part first (the one that is completely cool). I do a pulse type of measurement, not a BIAS measurement with the parts on a heatsink.
Results for this pair (rank 52):
220mA Vgs=6.02V Vds=17.32V
235mA Vgs=6.02V Vds=17.29V

Test results for the J18 set of 4 devices. Very good matches.
I will try to measure all the K60 today as well.
I have to update the list with the reservations, triode_al wanted to build himself a Pass F6 with the N devices, but is no longer confident in doing that, so he will not buy them.
Thank you for the patience

I realize that the buyer of the J18 set (volpar?) might use these separately rather than in matched pairs, and might prefer a cosmetically perfect part rather than a good electrical match. So I will be including this third J18 which came with the other two "KD-55". It isn't as good a match electrically as the "JC-55" (the only one that shows very light, superficial rust spot).
I'd like to keep the lone "C530" (definitely genuine, btw) so I can have one specimen of these rare vfet animals among my parts.
Let me get busy with testing all the K60. The test jig has been reconfigured, it is pretty safe (like before) with everything soldered, and I am very careful. DVM goes on the left, DUT (device under test) on the right.
Thanks,
Alex

Quick update, the test jig that worked fine for the J18 does not do a good job with the K60, because the drain and source of the device is now connected to input and output terminals of the second regulator. It just doesn't work like it theoretically should. No worries, I will add a second independent power supply to make it work. I want to assure I am selling intact devices.
Thanks,
Alex
edit: The answer to why it doesn't work is obvious now. The second regulator would have to sink current in through its output terminal, which it is not designed to do.

Alex

OK, I have finished testing all the K60's, found one defective part: one of the rank 56.
Patrick: you can have a pair of rank 55 instead. Actually, I will offer you the following matched triplet, for the same price. Yes, that rank 56 matches the rank 55 in measurements. You can choose which ones to use. Please notice that one of them has shorter terminals (cut), otherwise they are perfect. (BTW, no other parts have cut terminals.)
So, we have:
2 matched sets reserved to volpar
1 matched set reserved to Patrick (ItsAllInMyHead)
1 pair of K60 reserved to elwood625
1 pair of K60 reserved to Allvey
and Sean (DiyFan) is next in line for a matched pair, should anyone lose interest.
I have one pair left but they don't match at all, one is rank 53 the other 57.
(Will post pictures with measurements after I eat, I went without lunch).
Thanks,
Alex

Pictures and measurements of all the K60's
I will round down the shipping to 30 dollars. The insurance is about 2%, if I recall correctly. That is 2% of the value of goods of course.
Volpar, please pick two pairs that you prefer, to go along with the two pairs of J18. (I suggest pairs two and three, that is picture two and picture three below.)
Thanks,
Alex

In case anyone is wondering what the defect is... it's complicated. It actually works ok, BUT, I'm not comfortable selling that one because it's the only one that reads 60K ohms if you put an ohmmeter: red to the gate, black to the source. In the real world, the part will never see positive Vgs (hopefully), BUT, all the other parts give a much higher resistance reading, so I call this one flawed.
Thanks,
Alex
edit: in case it's not clear, all the pairs are reserved, and Sean and Vunce are first and second in line if someone loses interest.

A small correction, my mistake... Volpar, what I have for you is FIVE, not four 2SJ18. And four 2SK60. I explained it in all the posts above, scroll up a few posts...
Please excuse me for the excess information in this thread but I needed to explain it all, make it clear.
Thanks,
Alex
OK sorry I’ve been very busy and out of town I should be home Tuesday afternoon I’m not sure how many I’m going to need I need a full set for my Sony TA 4650 and also a full set for the up-and-coming and new NP amp.
on the way
Packages sent out to volpar and elwood625. I will send you the tracking #.
Thanks,
Alex

I am very sorry to inform Volpar, and Bill, that your packages were rejected by the export office, they didn't leave the country. I will refund your money in full (I will take the loss of paypal taxes, exchange rates, postage. It is a big loss for me).
I have no idea why they were rejected. The sad reality is it depends upon the person that is proccessing your export. As you can see, the package for Patrick has left the country without issues:
RR186155194BR
Global Track And Trace
I will refund you in full, please give me a few days because the funds are currently blocked in my paypal (they asked for updated documents, I sent everything; should be unblocked in a few days).
I am saddened and very sorry for this.

Please don’t do that try a different shipping service or UPS FedEx or DHL maybe you’ll have better luck with one of those American companies
I sent you email.
I am so sorry, this is a disgrace, it depends on the person that gets your package and forwards it. I don't think I want to take chances, lose more money.
I have yet to receive the package back.
