Great sound from PA Coaxial?

12HX500 has titanium dome in the driver, looks like more a PA than HIFI product since this will probably handle more power than the plastic diaphragms they have and general feel from reading the forums people like the plastic diaphragms. Of course I cannot say how it sounds or compares to anything. Response graph looks smooth until you see it is 10db per division so, can be anything. Anyway, would be cool to try it out someday, "new tech" is always interesting :)

It's also dome vs annular as compared to the 1xH230. Also it probably has a larger diameter, although from the spectrogram that it not really evident. Best thing is that you can cross from 0.9 kHz, for HiFi possibly a bit lower.

I've asked for pricing and availability.. Probably it will be unobtanium for a while.

Yes and in that sense it feels a old tech product :D The 1.4" driver (3" coil?) is interesting though. Not sure if there is any other coaxial doing this. For example BMS catalog shows only 1" - 1.75" voice coil compression drivers on their coaxial speakers. HX230 drivers seem to be nice drivers as well.

Nice - post some pics of your assembly and measurements, very interested to see how 15” coax behave. Just got myself some Celestion FTX1225 12”, looks seriously rugged compared to my older EB12CX; starting the build in a few weeks. Might try DSP this time. Big coax is fun. Might get 12” Kappalites next year, I like the screw-on concept with changeable 1” CD gives a lot of flexibility. 15” will be when I get a bigger house lol.

I've just purchased Oberton's 15H4CX72 coaxial.

Underhung 4" voice coil motor
1.4" HF using their carbon composite diaphragm - close to beryllium
Copper cap and copper coated pole piece
55g mms
100+Db 1w/1m LF

15H4CX72

On paper seems to be the king of coaxials

The only thing I don't like is the narrow dispersion. Looks good otherwise.

The 18 Sound 15NCX1000 looks nice as well. Would be quite expensive with the beryllium diaphragm installed.
