Obviously, Aliens using advanced laser technology travelled here to generate these false UFO spoofs all those years ago. Now that we know how to do it for ourselves they don’t bother visiting anymore.

I only read the Wikipedia entry yesterday, but I saw that it referenced the report linked here in post #1148.
So I just read this opening summary of said PDF:
"This document is made up of two parts:
The initial study « Back to McMinnville pictures », published on the ipaco.fr
website in April 2013.
A complementary study « Evidence of a suspension thread», added in June
2013.
The 1st part shows how, using adapted interactive tools, one may prove that the explanation of a model hanging from a thread is by far the most probable one, in the absence of irrefutable proof. This study, however, did not uncover the presence of a thread in the pictures.
The 2nd part, written up after having integrated a specific and original detection tool into the IPACO software, uncovered the presence of a suspension thread in both pictures, which should put an end to the study of this case file."
I suppose I should read the rest for completeness' sake, but I'm struck wondering why a 2020 UFO film would leave out pertinent data from seven years previous. I won't call it sloppy research, but it is certainly inadequate.
addendum: I wish to add that the photos look like a 1950s paradigm of a "flying saucer," and while circumstantial and viewed from a 21st century context, it is "fishy."

You clearly adhere to the first one, arguing "it was not me who said they are green Martians" or some equivalent disclaimer is irrelevant detail , you are in the "UFOs are real" Team and none other.
Trying to downgrade subjects fom UFOs to UAPs or any other letter salad is not enough, a weak effort to get off the hook you needlessly bit into.
The game was already defined from the very first two posts, just for sake of completeness and to explain the 1200 😱 following posts:

This is a conversation. You can jump in and out without taking part fully, but doing so is rude. I am having multiple conversations with many different people, about a topic of mutual interest. You see it as two opposing teams fighting each other, and you really, really want to win. That’s your problem. Get with the program, this is should be a discussion, not a fight. Also, you need to stop being rude and insulting in your responses because you influence others to respond in kind and be as rude as you are. Raise your conversational bar. It’s very low at the moment.
My guess is that conversing in this way has been entertainment for him. If we were successful in influencing him to take a more positive tone there might be negative repercussions. I'd hate to see anyone sublimating their most enjoyable social outlet only to end up sitting on their porch all day and yelling at the neighbor kids to get off his lawn. (I kid, I kid)

Yup, we are the the mercy of the DoD. And I agree this thread has run its course until we get more data from the DoD, and as I said earlier, it doesn't look like the DoD will release thing soon if at all.
