Class A is back on the menu ?

I have new Class A in the pipeline, it's a Composite Collector Load Class A Amplifier.
I have build that one 30 years ago already more than one time and the one which sits in my second home in northern Thailand still works. that time back I fought with distortion.
You can find explanation of Composite Collector Load Class A here: USE GOOGLE
The trick is to have a high speed Switching diode which passes the negative current from Minus Rail, and Positive Current from Current Source Transistor straight. this is what I remember. I have one running here on my test bench, Vrail +- 20 Volts, Smps.@6.5AMPs but it uses merely 1.2 amp, multiplied by Vrail its a 32 watt for 15 watt output..I hae to say that this amp *the one I make, input is AB. Differential Amp using a IC. but then driver and output stage is full class A.. this is the Test version, after when I get rid of that Distortion problem, I will change the Input to Transistor as well.

Is does Save Power, it does reduce heat.

...I feel the problem of Florida, Bangladesh, Netherlands, any number of pacific islands are in immenent threat of being under water, and that is a much much larger problem to my mind.

"They had jerrybuilt the beaches from San Diego to the Golden Gate, bulldozed super-highways through the mountains, cut down a thousand years of redwood growth, and built an urban wilderness in the desert. They couldn’t touch the ocean. They poured their sewage into it, but it couldn’t be tainted.

There was nothing wrong with Southern California that a rise in the ocean level wouldn’t cure.”
― Ross Macdonald, The Archer Files: The Complete Short Stories of Lew Archer, Private Investigator

(That's from the 1950s. We now taint with sewage too.)

Electricity production worldwide

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

ENR is for ; other Non renewable energy.
In the world, 80% of electricity is coming from non renewable source.
1/3 of the energy made for making electricity is the heat dissipation to make it (water cooling, vapor, direct heat towards the environment...)
biogas and wastes is only 2.3% while all the thermic combustion (fuel, gaz, trees, coal) is more than 60% worldwide...

That is an Apple PowerMac/MacPro aluminum case is it not?

I have a stash of those and only really need to keep one if anyone wants one. Superb platform to build an amplifier in.

@PRR. I had my share of flooding when I lived in Thailand.. and I can say that, it's nothing to laugh about..

Hope this can be stopped somehow, but even if we deactivate all Class A amps in the world, we still stay a BIG chance that these cities mentioned before will be in big trouble.
One of the first cities to be in trouble is Jakarta, Capital City of Indonesia.

Correct. I have several of them. check this out

Excelle t. I see that i am not theonly one to see the potential. I will be intersted to see how you approach it.

As i suggested, i have a number of spares (at least 4) if anyone wants one (preferably pick, but relatively if bulky, to ship). I still have 2 running MacPros and a PowerMac as well.

The problem in south east Asia is that many cities are almost equal to sea level,

Bangkok as example is just 50 cm above. and that is not much.. also Jakarta, Hong Kong, Guangzhou (China) is just about one meter on the lowest..

Present time, the City which got hit most here in Europe is not only Amsterdam, but also Venice in Italy. But here it is a question of the Big Ships which passing through that channel there, and so helping worse come to worse..
Now in Venice they build three Huge and these ones are HUGE, Water Doors which are under the Sea level and when flooding comes, can be rotated upwards to stop the flood.. but the Italian building this since ages, and it never gets finished.. Suppose should be next year as far as I know.

Holland or Netherlands build DAMS, and those help to some extend.
Check this out.. by2050

I have one MACPRO Dual Xeon, 32gig Ram, Running Windows 10 on it and also OSX10.8 on a second drive,Using Bootcamp to switch and of course with SSD.. so fast lightspeed fast..all of my comps only SSD
Running with a Nvidia 640 Graphic card with 4 GIG ram. I would need a another AMD Graphic 5500 for that one, if you find one,, Buying it, of course,, But must be MAC BIOS.

then have 2 Imacs, and 2 Macbook Pro.. one of them is a pain in the A....
Broken 5 times, was repaired for free3 times, I just exchanged the MOBO a few days back,,

And the guy who send me the board from USA, send me a BOARD, where the CD / DVD isn't working and also remote, but never mind, the rest works without flaw.
and many Regular PC's.. HP DLG 380 G5, G6 G7 G8 SERVERS and more..

I love computers as much as I love these CLASS A I build..All the CLASS A have sliding feet underneath, so one does not need to carry them, say to clean that corner, just pull and they will slide on the floor.

I have 2 MacPros none with as much RAM as yours, one running XP the other 10.6. PowerMac is runnign OS10.4.

2 MacBook Pros, the most used one on 10.15, one a couple older (and is used for Sketcghup 7).

A macMini in the music system, and at least a few other macines tha still work including one of the Flower Power iMacs and a Cube. And my original (only the case is original) souped up Mac128 (16MHz 6020 and 4MB RAM).

I have had many, many Macs.

Software is the reason i have so many Being in th ebusiness i saw many break, but so, so far less than the Windows boxes. Software fixes could often be done over the phone, but in the early days it could be a lot of work to fix a machine some architect (or such) had screwed up.And at one point i was solving a lot of PC file problems by just dealing with the file on the Mac. Sometime a CAD export they could not open, i opened it up on the Mac, saved it as (same file format) and then they could deal with it.

will be funny when we change of EV because the main OS of the car will be non upgradable too ! 😛

Big ships are forbiden now in Venice from few weeks... good thing ! The Mose system in the laguna is a big waste...the bad side of Italia : mafia, coruption...🙁

Or when the perfectly good $80,000 EV you have sitting in your driveway becomes a paperweight when Microsoft and Google want to charge you subscription fees of $1500 a year, and they turn the old version you bought with the car that was supposed to be indefinitely upgradable OFF.

Who is going to be around in 100 million years to use it? Humans will have either killed themselves off, found a way off this rock, or gotten assimilated by the Borg by then. Renewable means we can get more than what already exists here in a useful timeframe.

The sun will eventually go dark. And it’s too small to do anything interesting like make a black hole. Again, humans will be long gone by then.
