I'm not going to argue that point because you are totally correct, what I am arguing is that there will be a solution for nuclear waste when we've worked on that one for 70 years without any progress.
I've asked Dave for a technical/mathematical/scientific solution to his assertion that soft-coupling a driver to it's cabinet causes loss of small signal information (DDR) for what seems that long with a similar lack of progress. 😉

A dangerous blink. Don’t get me wrong. Humans as the dominant life form on earth is very much on a knife’s edge. Wehave lots of hard choices to make. But i feel th eproblem of Florida, Bangladesh, Netherlands, any number of pacific islands are in immenent threat of being under water, and that is a much much larger problem to my mind.

Class A, yes, if few what instead big class AB that consumes close if 200 W, perhaps.

About Class A: there are worse things than Class A which using to much power considering "Effort and benefit" of it.
The Single End I use now I listen to it almost cold.. Meaning under 35 degrees.
Sound is still Very Good. In high mode that Amp uses ( bought some Digital Power Meter where it shows me how much power the device draws from Line) without Saving Unit in between it sucks 658Watt - For both Channels when Idle or not doesn't matter.
Using my Power Save Unit it uses 165 Watts for Both Channels, and using it in super Save mode, it uses less then 40 Watts.. not even really warm, as I said Sound is still good..
Will place some pictures of that later when I'm home..

Government should output a LAW that each and every Plastic electricity Batteries Car Owner has to have Solar Cells installed on their Roof, to charge these "Super Cars " I have a few freinds who have Tesla and other Electric Cars, but all of them invested into Solar Cells just to to charge these cars..

No country lives without fire. Today thou, many of those fires are electric. The number of people living on earth without fire is vanishingly small.

The fact is each human should have an energetic passeport bill and we will see than people are spending ten thousand more energy than others

In our world currently, a measure of success is measured with money. Tis is far to restrictive. We need to add the value of respect, respect for others, respect for the environment we live in.

Much of that driven by scarcity of resources. But man keeps expanding the available resources and we keep seeing a growth in wealth everywhere as there are more resources to be spread out.

There is an astoundingly larger source of resources out in space. Right now it is very expensive to take advantage of those resources, but it keeps getting cheaper & cheaper. What happens when we can make all our steel and aluminum on outer space, and dropping it into the ocean for pickup.

Or huge solar collectors (can just be simple solar concentrators [BIG half sphere] dribving a very efficient “steam” generator) sending clean energy down to earth (ideally huge AC transmission lines as part of the space elevator, but microwave is much closer to being something usable.

too much limited cause we grow like rabbits in a garden.

Nuke is good, why not working on depoluting by sending it in space ? Dangerous ?, More than Covid cause bats soup, or everyday car pollution, etc ... not sure ?

There is a balance. Our technical capabilities are growing exponentially as we tease out every smaller and ever larger insights into how the worls works around us. We are still climbing out of the dark ages, the future is so bright we should be wearing shades.

In BC, fortunatly the majority of electricity is hydro. Pretty green energy after one discounts the large amount of change/destruction/creation taht happens when we build a dam and fill a valley with water to make a big lake. Williston lake is the primary source, it was/is an environmental mess (they didn’t have time to clear all the trees, and one can be out on the lake and have a tree let loose and come screaming up from the bottom right thru the bottom of the boat. All sorts of heavy machinery still on the edge of the lake (and likely in the lake) rusting away to iron oxide. Nature is normallizing things thou. And it continues. The green energy to fuel the west coast with green (electric) fire is being expanded with teh Site C dam and there are a lt of people pissed that ancient grave sites wil be underwater. Worth doing in th elong run IMO.

Planet10, the pun about compression driver question is that I found the super computers picture you showed looked like very near some modern compression driver seen from above, and it was about to highlight then the relativity of things... I was not understood here 😱

About cars and cells, it is very clear to me each gvt countries is defending his economy and his industry which is explaining the non logical cunsumption incentives by them. Gvt people lives from taxes as well and have some interest people spend their monney. Last hype is electrical cars while here half of people are living in flat in suburbs where the elec cars make sense cause they most do small everyday distances for their job and supermarket but can not load them ! Crazy no ? Individual houses here is less than half the reality, most people live in blocks, town and concentrated suburbs... remote desktops are not for everyones, most of jobs needs the boss see your body not sleeping !

Yep I assume, one should balance his waste by efforts elswhere, like the solar panels you talk about and of course not by sorting out the ones whom can pollute by the weight of their wallet as we, unluckilly, see too much - pollution passport, big car engines taxes and so on... And it makes a perfect sense imho in such countries as your where people live in a natural jewel. I can not beleive Alps is loosing snow as well, but it is !

I guessed you might be refrring to the Cray 2 i pictured. In those days, the wires, yes wire not PCBs, had to have matched lengths to ensure the proper timing of signals. Now it is all in the same chip.

Literally miles of wire in that thing.

I think I should live in Buthan, few vehicles, consumption is not the model, they don't measure the smart by the amount of money you earn, elec is from water, and they restrict mass tourism. I'm glad they don't sell houses to western people as I !

ebike makes no sense : people want a bubble and area to buy dozen bottles of coca, beers, chips, arachid paste, frozen pizza 😉

And if the elec you putt in the bike or the vehicle is not green as it is in most of the countries where they are sold, then it pollutes more than the gasoline one :heavier, rarer commodities sourced even farther (Chile, China, Africa, Russia)...

sorry but the better acceleration *** kick and the silent, for me it's a no progress... I would like to know if Norwegians which is the country who are buying the more EV are loading them with only green water and not fossil. I'm sure I know the answer already, alas. EV is only making sense where you have nuke, solar or water. The new paradigm is already dead and not a solution untill hydrogen motors will be the logical following (and again if hydro is made with green elec as it needs a lot of elec to do as well). Not saying all those networks we need to compute together is becoming a huge part of elec production.

And imagine when the asians will visit us and see all of us on bicycle and say : "I love these typical countries where all the people are on bikes!" lol, makes no sense, you want a bicycle than you have muscles ! I remember until I die in China near Gulling, I was 25 yo and a 60 or more yo country Chinese man pass me on a climb pass... His bikes had a standalone speed, I still could hear the cows in the mud of rice fields laughing at me ! True story !

I mean “fire” in the sense of human’s continuing quest to extract energy, a precious resource, required to “mine” others, from the world around us. It started with burning sticks. We now have hydro, geothermal, solar, wind, fission, fossil fuels, (likely missed some), and soon tidal, fusion, stuff we can’t think of. Each has its own particular environmental impact, problems, and solutions. Fossil fuel has been a huge boon to the human race’s expansion, but now we have to pay the price that it cost to get here.

We keep finding out stuff we did in the past that make no sense now. Petrol as we know it is near to passing its time. But there is huge momentum, and is a significant task to turn the “vessel”, to find a world where we really take care of the environment around us in a hiolistic, sustainable way, that still enriches us all. We have been at this now for about 100k years, we stil have a long ways to go — if we can avoid wiping ourselves out.

We have to walk a tightrope if we wanr to make it to the end of the century and avoid ending in collapse, living one of the many distopian epics.

OK I have took no plane since 2012, but must admit I have a debt as I travelled a lot, sometimes several times in same far destination. My amp is a smps Chord that split 200 W 8 ohms and 600 W stable at 2 ohms.

I know I must stop wasting commodities as drivers, speakers wood, electronics parts, etc. It's hard, it's really hard, even if half of my time is spent to read things…

CV19 being a worldwide disease of too much rich people over the poorest, wants me I increase the speed towards less and essentials things... I can just make my small colibri part to bring water onto the big australian bush fire, but thanks to good minds that have powerfull tools and monney, things are getting better, too much slowly, but better.

Could be wonderfull if computer people, where I come from btw, could make more : all that class A datacenters, hubbs and network DO need green elec. GAFA enterprises should pay their bill here, imho... it's not because you wear a teeshirt you are a cool man.

Yes I you see when I open my bedroom or livingroom Window I can see the Alp, Swiss Alps, and these cetainly lose snow as the 0Degree Celcius line in summertime is claiming higher and higher. usually it should be at 2000 meter... last summer it was up at almost 4000 meter..

About the AMP, pics are numbered, in swiss we should have everywhere 230 Volts, but we do not have that so this makes the readout not exactly the same all time. but you can see the difference.
The super Save I will show to a later day, I just plugged in all three amps, and the circuit didn't withstand the power ... heheh Electronic Smoke, greeted..

Note: Picture 4 and 5 is a difference because of using the measure tool befor the Save Box and after the save box with the Class A connected..


It's more than 3 times less power consumption for a CLASS A we take those numbers as you can read them 616:172=3.581 times less
616:156.5= 3.936 Times less Power Consumption..

But this works only on that SINGLE END here, it doesn't want to work on the CLASS A I have which are using Constant Current Source. ie Transistors instead of these BIG RESISTORS I use in the single END

thanks. Well going to Haute Provence Alpes time to time, you can experiment this till 1200 meters. Can see it from several decades, it increases, sometimes odly you have massive snow, but rarer and rarer !
