I'm still bottled to full albums

in context you gave - albums:
Guess Who -American Woman
MC5 - Kick out the Jams

these two albums will reveal all you need to know about an amp

:)

though, just two drops in entire Sea, Tnx Buddha to that (Universe, God, you name it)

I agree. I enjoy taking the time to pick out a full album. I was just joking around a bit selecting tracks with coffee and tea (two sweet and two with no sugar). :D

I admit that I usually listen to a full album if it's older or a compilation. For many "newer" albums, I admit to selecting a few songs and putting them into a playlist.

That's what I learned and love about diy - you have to try it and see what you like.

We all have different systems, different rooms and different ears.

Mighty ZM is giving us a lot to try as does Nelson - Sissy3, LuDEF, Old Soul, M25 and from what I read more to come. I look forward to trying LuDEF, Old Soul and a couple of others to see where my ears in my room with my pre and my speakers lead me.
That's the experimentalist in me.

Right now my Sissy1 stands a little bit above the Singing Bush. Both are great amps
and both will stay with me. LuDEF has outrageous distortion numbers and the Old Soul with GE and 2SK1943 options looks like a unit that will keep me busy trying and listening.

My thanks to all of you in the diy community that provide great learning tools

Bob

And thanks to you! Well-said. I fully admit that my preference leaned toward Singing Bush. However, that was in someone else's system, and they preferred SissySIT. I think they're both insanely good.

The only way to really know is to get off my rump and finish my Singing Bush and use it in my system. :D

I can't talk about ZMs/Nelson's creations without saying... there is something so delightful about the BJ2. I've decided that I will give it the full treatment and build a version with the SS that Nelson/Codyt graciously provided. I don't know how that amp can be better, but I'm looking forward to hearing it with the SS.

Only ZM is having Omnisystems, Omnirooms, Omniears ....... and Pa

(it seems his presence is resulting of permanently keeping me on very tip of my Omnitoes)

:clown:

What you and Nelson have put out there for us to play with, enjoy, and learn from is remarkable. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. :)

late to post
My current test lps

Blood Sweat and Tears :checked:
War Greatest hits
Cowboy Junkies Trinity Sessions :checked:
Here comes the Sun Nina Simone :checked:
Kind of Blue Nina Simone :checked:
Jimi Hendrix Blues
Otis Redding Sings the Blues :checked:
Nora Jones :checked: I use Come Away With Me and Feels Like Home + a track from the album she did with Billy Joe Armstrong on Foreverly (I'm Here to Get My Baby Out of Jail)
Dark Side of the Moon :checked:
Muddy Waters Fathers and Sons
Linda Ronstadt Heart Like a Wheel
Creedence Clearwater Greatest Hits :checked: I use Cosmo's Factory
Guess Who
a Dvorak 9

List does change according to mood;)
We use some similar albums... See checks above. Below are a few others I use quite a bit.

Alisson Krauss - A Hundred Miles or More
Alisson Krauss and Union Station - Live
Bela Fleck - Flight of the Cosmic Hippo
Eric Clapton - 24 Nights
Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells A Story
Stevie Ray Vaughn - They Sky Is Crying
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
Johnny Cash - American IV: The Man Comes Around

List definitely changes (many more additions and some subtractions) according to mood and what I think I hear. If something sounds "off" or "sounds incredible" in a particular aspect, I'll play individual tracks from a bunch of albums to see how things shake out. If the toe starts tapping... then it really doesn't matter. The best amps are the easiest "test" sessions.

Thanks for the kind remarks
You have some LPs that I also have used - great choices

It is such a personal choice to choose an amp and for me the Sissy gets my toes tapping and I feel the music. As you said the Singing Bush is an outrageously good amp and will suit some individuals and their environment. The LuDEF and Old Soul are going to be a fun ride. I get nervous when ZM says he has 10-12 amps in his head. It's both the music and the learning and most of the designs will be for me a thought experiment. AT my age I want to enjoy the great LPs we have talked about ;);)

As I wrote several times, one of problems I have originated from day I was born - my Mom didn't brought me as Twins

indeed I am ( even if not interested in subject at all), as they say - Double Gemini (both in sign and sub-sign, whatever that is), and that fact is sorta making my day much shorter

I did succeeded in one very important thing in life - I'm listening the music all day, whatever I'm doing
Though, even if I'm working on that, I'm permanently failing in including 3-rd activity in combo - it would be perfect - doing something, while listening the music and reading the book

It seems only then all my aspirations would be fulfilled :bawling:

Look Ma, with no hands!

:clown:

'morrow some fun

old Soul, changing Bigun Ge from Yank to Батюшка; it'll demand some drilling but - that's the life of Mighty ZM ......instead of staying in Paris and working as Hooker, I decided that I want to make amps in Serbia

then making some measurements

then assembling this one ........

I made capital error on pcb, and really don't know how to circumvent that - after ordering Null batch of pcbs, I decided to change name of amp from SEF ( Schade Enhanced Follower) to SET (Schade Enhanced Thingie) .... and now I have set of pcbs with inappropriate name on them .......
