Wow- I'm shocked! Oldspkrguy(42476), you are in my thoughts and prayers. Thanks for the time you spent with us, and be as well as you can be.
Best regards,

Really sorry to hear about your situation. Thank you for sharing your valuable knowledge on here.
Very sorry to hear this Oldspkrguy.
I think the best way to honor Oldspkrguy is to keep the thread going, so here are a couple of my favorite drivers:
Satori TW29RN dimple dome- $158 (used to be cheaper). mellow non fatiguing sound and can cross low. Looks cool.
Usher 8948A- unfortunately discontinued. great combo of midrange and bass for a driver of this size. I put it right in there with the Satori and Scan midbass.
Dayton RSS315hf-$166. great woofer/subwoofer. works flawlessly in a moderately sized sealed enclosure. why spend more?

Funny you mention that set of drivers...
I plan on using the 8948A with the SB29RDC. Should work great!

For me it is
- Peerless TC9, it is almost jack of all trades. Use it single, mtm or array. Decent as mid-hi, great as a midrange.
- Peerless DFM2535, it is nothing short of amazing what they made for 38 euros.
- Eminence Deltalite II 2512, very underestimated midwoofer. Low Mms, low Le, low Fs, highish Vas and good Qts. Needs a larger cabinet (about 120 liters) but sounds great for a hi-eff two way even without the subs.
- Kef coax from R series, probably the best mids and highs i heard when crossover done right.

I've got to get my hand on some of these. Is this 6.5" version?

Please share the design if you could.
It's not on the burner yet, but I plan on a 'versa-box' and doing a LOT of 5-8" 2-ways in the not to distant future.
But, sure!

No. R series, Reference, Blade and Muon all have 5".
If you want 6.5" you'd have to source it from Kef Q300.

Be aware there is cone material difference with the flagship serie... Blade. Dunno for the cubic serie though if they use aluminium or the alloy chosen for the Blade serie.
The Faital 12PR320 is surely a good alternative to the 12 delta 2 from Eminence though I can not testimony about it. Some says it is a more good choicenthan its 15 inches brother as far timbers and fidelity are important vs the bass behavior alone. PA driver...big Vas as well.

<300 Hz the Eminence neo magnet drivers are tough to beat (..like really tough to beat). At a 12" the Kappalite 3012HO has a stronger motor and a bit more excursion than something like the Deltalite II.
IF you need a 12" pro driver that goes higher in freq. and is used low in freq. (a broad-band midbass) then the A&E drivers are pretty much "it".

Did you think the R series was a big upgrade from the one in the LS50?
I meant the Faital 12PR320 has also a great low end for the price. I would like to hear what Tony Gee is making with it and the Faital HF coax compression.

No one that i know has it and i've never seen it, let alone listened to it. I've kept the list made of transducers that i've worked with - but there are much more out there that look superb and would very much like to own them 🙂

Yes, without a doubt. But not because something is better done/manufactured/engineered per se. Rather because it is specialized for the work it has to do. LS50 uses a midwoofer and R3 uses pure midrange in their dual concentric. I've managed to obtain the new R series dual concentric.
