Yes, groundhog day was it, with a detailed explanation.
Every now and then I get ridiculed for my (2 to 3 days) weather forecast.
My spruce barometer.
If the spruce branch looks up, we are in a phase of good weather; if it hangs down, we are in a phase of bad weather

I think Kaffimann is sending us his weather... Spent the morning snow blowing and digging... Especially important as SWMBO needed to get out to get her covid jab today...
11C / 51F this morning, and the atmosphere looks and feels unstable.
The first of the small spring flowers popped up in the last day or so, but I expect we will have at least one more brutal cold snap before tornado season.
That blue gas can still foul your plugs.

Just spreading the love

The youngest had been out for a few hours at -17c, we tried getting her back in but she said "It's not cold, I dont want to go inside". 8 year old, about 3 hours at -17c and she's all smiles. Quite hungry now though.

About 12 years ago we did an addition to the house and left the dirt from the basement as a decent sized hill in the back yard. Dear daughter loved to sled on it and would not come inside when it was really cold. Now the dogs just like the hill for strategic positioning. Maybe also to scritch teir back as the slide down also.
Well, surprise, surprise, I just had it rain a single small rock! Didn't hit anything but a spot in the back yard. Marked the location and will dig for it later.
Much more interesting than snow!

It’s Cold Today
Simon, be careful with that rock, you saw what happened in “The Blob” right?
Mid-morning a fox came to our garden, she went to some shade in the flower bed, made herself comfortable on the springy plant bed and after cleaning herself and yawning a lot, she decided to have a snooze. The whole afternoon.

I know you're a smart guy Ed, but might it be an idea to ask someone about the potential safety of going after a UFO? One would expect that if a rock joined you in your yard, and it arrived at terminal velocity, perhaps discretion is the better part of valour?I will know for sure when I dig it up, if I can find it.
Just asking. 🙂
I know! Her kit ended up at my place, looking particularly well fed.Mid-morning a fox came to our garden
No kidding, once inside. this little buddy slept all afternoon. Didn't miss mommy one bit. Quite a curious little guy.The whole afternoon.

More the look of ‘why you so full of it dad’ 😉
Speaking of ......that’s probably what fell in Eds yard. So a frozen ball of poop fell from the sky — should we really be worried? - ABC News

I don't want to get all "it's cold today" up in here, but in 12 hours, it will be -17 F, with a wind chill of -35 F. I don't know how to make the conversion from furlongs to cubits, but that's cold in any language.
