Just as a reminder - sonic craft responded to my email to inform me that the parts were already so heavily discounted it would not be possible to offer any further discount.

So if you want to use different parts than the Cardas parts specifically listed earlier you should order the back panel with pilot holes, otherwise if you are still intending on buying the correct Cardas parts than order the Cardas Back Panel.

A couple more things to point out: the pilot holes and the XLR holes are all going to have a 2,5mm diameter. I have discussed about this with Pico and we can drill and tap the holes for the XLR as well as the ones for the IEC cut out so the final user is not going to have to do that by himself.

If everything goes well you should be able to place your orders tomorrow morning 🙂

Hi Gianluca, to be clear for those that will order the chassis with the pilot hole option for the back panel drilling (not using Cardas connectors) and reading your post above - am I correct in now saying:

1, For the 2 off RCA cutouts, there will be a 2.5mm pilot hole. The builder then drills out these holes to suit the selected connector.
2. For the 4 off speaker binding posts, there will be a 2.5mm pilot hole. The builder then drills out these holes to suit the selected binding post.
3. For the mains IEC connector, there will be the required sized rectangular cutout, and for the 2 off screw mounting holes - these will be tapped 3mm.
4. For the 2 off XLR connectors, there will be the required large circular hole for the body of the XLR connector and then 2 off tapped 3mm holes for the mounting screws for each connector.

Then for those ordering the Cardas back panel option, all holes will be drilled to suit the selected Cardas parts, and the 2 mounting screw holes for the IEC connector and the 4 off XLR mounting screw holes will be tapped M3.

I hope that is clear.

This is 100% correct, thanks for describing it in a better way 🙂

We have decided to do this because the smallest hole we can make with our CNC machine is 2,5mm. Pico told me the plan was to make the XLR mounting screws holes with a 2mm diameter so the final user could enlarge and tap them but since they have to be 2,5mm already I thought it could help to have us drill and tap them once we produce them

No problems at all Gianluca, that is a good solution for all. Members now know exactly what they will have with either back panel option.

You also mention in your post that orders can be placed from tomorrow morning your time - which is good news. What then will be the delivery time frame with regards to manufacturing and shipping lead times. I am assuming early February for dispatch is most likely from Italy.

It is now possible to order the chassis! Here is the direct link Ricerca - 1HFTOXIC

A couple of things to point out:

- Production is not going to start until 40 chassis have been ordered
- Shipping charges have been updated but for some areas of some countries (Canada and Australia) they may differ a bit and we cannot until we prepare the airway bill on FedEx website
- Estimated production time is about 3 business weeks

Feel free to ask any question you may have in this thread 🙂

Well I tried to order Gianluca, I registered and added 2 chassis to the cart. It shows no shipping options - please contact us for assistance and the only payment method showing is a bank transfer -which I wont be doing as it costs too much in fees and charges. Do you not accept credit cards or more conveniently payment by Paypal?

When I hit the submit order button, I get a message saying the order can't be placed because no shipping method is selected - but I cant select a shipping method in the first place.

I think you have some work to do on this order page yet.

We can ship up to 31 KG to Australia, have you added other products to your cart or only the full kit? It seems like you cannot complete your order because of the extra weight

Yes it is possible to pay by PayPal but only by choosing the option "send money to a friend or family member"
