TPA3255 - all about DIY, Discussion, Design etc

Hi amigos,

Seems that the new version of the finished 3E Audio TPA3255 is now provided with DIP8 socket to update OP amps, good new )

Amplifier will be sold with 2 PSU options :

44V for 8ohn
37V for 4ohm

I see a 2 prong power chord entering a metal case. The worst case scenario in terms of electrical safety. Like so many of these chinese designs, no CE-declaration or CE-marking and electrical safety is something for sissies. Building an audio amp takes more than optimizing audio aspects. 😡

There are two types of 3e audio SY-DAP2002 available: SY-DAP2002 -4ohm / 37V and SY-DAP2002 -8ohm / 44V.
Is the reason for this divided into two types because it is necessary to lower the voltage due to insufficient power supply capacity with a 4 ohm load?

I believe the lower input voltage for the 4ohm version will be to lower the heat generated by the amplifier chip with low impedance speakers and high psu voltage.
However I run my 3e 2channel into nominal 4ohm speakers and run at 51v. No problems so far. Been powered up 24/7 for months
