Did anyone else get a lot done during this damn pandemic?

I only made:

Two F4s, 3W power follower with resistor current source, H2, J2 sim., SE tube preamp and repaired one of the F4.

Starting:

J2 mosfet version, Aleph-X, balanced B3-Pre, high gain tube preamp, add buffer to DAC, adjust FR speaker port, make 3-way passive XO.

Thinking about:

2-way open-baffle w/ two 15" drivers and either FR driver or panar or ribbon.
A unique speaker box.

Kind of a slow year so far. 😉

What did I do....?

I made:
- 2 versions of Waynes linestage - one finished with case / second one pcb

stuffed for experiments...
- 6-24 crossover - finished in the cases
- Hifi-rack - not finished yet - needs some more clearcoat and finish + assembly

Although there is the pandemia - I was pretty busy in my job... (only very short shutdown)

Made a few nightshifts

I (re)finished my M2x monoblocks, and waded into the deep end on the daughterboards.

Also did planning on re(re)doing the M2x power supplies. Finished SLB PSU boards, Mark Johnson's switch/slow start boards. Waiting on the new Toroidy transformers. Then I have to tear the whole thing apart and rebuild again. New (black) front panels to be ordered when I figure out where the switches go. I have 4u cases, and they will be crowded in there.

Hello Jeffrey,

these are Modushop Galaxy Chassis. On the fronpanels of my Waynes linestage and the PSU in a second case is nothing. Till now. Only black anodized 10mm aluminum.
But I like simple designs.
The input selctor and volume control is in a third case. Universally usable for different preamps.I called it 'Master control'...🙄

My son has a thing about cable management.
He would have a melt down seeing that.

Hahahaha

Covid has increased rather than decreased my workload. Despite this, I've tried to set aside some time to gather my sanity with some intermittent and soothing solder sniffing.

I've finally finished my VFet2 amp, started building (nearly done) with a set of 300B monoblock amps, put my DCB1 into a proper chassis (after nearly 5 years of having a naked PCB), rebuilt the power supply for my LDR based BA-3 preamp, and did lots of landscaping projects in the back yard.

I feel with your son! 😀

Please tell him, that this can happen if he gets the same 'illness' like me!

I am building a new HiFi-rack for the Preamps at the moment. Perhaps this will help - a little bit?!
I could send you a few other pics from 'cable salad'. But this menu would be to hard for him - I think....

Have a nice weekend!

I'm curious on your VFet2 heatsinking requirement - how hot does it get? For my VFet CSX1, I find it quite toasty using the 400mm length 4U chassis: 1.5A bias?

Super_BQ: I'm using a Modus Shop 3U case that is 300mm deep. This is really the smallest chassis that works for the VFet2 amp. The sinks run about +25c over ambient. It is my understanding that the dissipation is just shy of 60w per channel.

The CSX1 amp, however, is closer to 100wpc dissipation. I have boards, brackets, transformers, VFets, and sinks for this project. I probably need to order some random parts to populate the rest of the board. The sinks I have are 7.5" tall and 17" wide. This should be plenty to bake off the power that this amp provides. I'll make a wooden chassis for it and then I just need a PSU and parts for the PCB.
