Remember P.T Barnum!
Howie
In addition to the echo I must take offense at the cheap Barnum reference. Greg Barnum (RIP) a descendant was one of my good friends in high school!
Never overlook the way to the egress. 😉
with a black sticker which must do the magic absorption.
Reminds me of something else. 🙄
That is sooo last week Howie 😛
I'm waiting for Mr C's endorsement, after all we are all so lacking in perception😉

Well, I looked into that quote and although he was involved, apparently he did NOT make the statement:
The REAL Story Behind the Quote “There’s a Sucker Born Every Minute”
As such I retract my attribution...lolol
And the closest I can come to deciphering "Never overlook the way to the egress" is "Don't let the door hit you on the way out" or something like that...lolol Sir Edward, you speak in riddles!
Cheers!
Howie
In one of Barnum's exhibit tents, folks paid to enter to view the curiosities. To keep the traffic moving there was a sign at the far end that read "This way to the Egress." So after folks had seen every exhibit they would follow that passage to see the "Egress." Thus moving traffic through faster and improving the vocabulary of many! 😉 !!!
Now was that deceptive or honest? Perhaps an interesting combination of both?

Well Mr. Fields is documented as saying, "Never give a sucker an even break, or smarten up a chump". That's about where hi-end audio is these days.

And the marketing department at AD too, considering the retail markup on AD797?
It must be frustrating for you trying to come up with a USP when you have to rely on putting together parts made by other people
And the marketing department at AD too, considering the retail markup on AD797?
I am sure if an order for 1 million pa appeared the cost per would drop considerably. Given the competitive nature of the semiconductor market I don't see any gouging going on for best (and guaranteed) performance.
£10 each vs £65+ for a Burson audiphool opamp. I don't see the issue.
And the marketing department at AD too, considering the retail markup on AD797?
It's good to see how little you understand the industry.
It's good to see how little you understand the industry.
Wondering myself, is AD still running somewhere in a fab wafer batches in that ancient process, or they rely on the wafer bank to fill in the minuscule (I guess) orders?
It's good to see how little you understand the industry.
Seems to me you are the one who once said something about it doesn't cost any more to make than other opamps the marketing department sets the prices.
Also, good to see how little you understand about the high end audio industry. The legitimate players in that industry aren't getting rich, maybe the crooks are but not everyone is a crook.
Please explain "high-end audio"Also, good to see how little you understand about the high end audio industry. The legitimate players in that industry aren't getting rich, maybe the crooks are but not everyone is a crook.

Probably so. Hopefully, the same would happen if you ordered 1 million Pass Labs HPA-1 too.
