Yes, everything affects. And losses in the dielectric, non-linearity of the cable capacitance and even the piezoelectric effect, induced noise that falls through the general feedback to the amplifier input, skin effect, triboelectric effect, input capacitance and load. All this interacts with distortion amplifiers or DACs. For instance. Russian binatural records. Van Den Hul audio cables are compared in the system from the player. Original audio files (WAV, 16 bit / 48 kHz): Сравниваем звук кабелей van den Hul 3T The Air, The Cumulus Hybrid и The Rock Hbrid [бинауральные записи] / Stereo.ruI don't see any mention of that either. It would be nice to have a lab full of equipment, but its only a hobby. None the less, people generally are telling the truth when they say the sound of something changed. Doesn't matter if it was from switching a cable, doesn't matter if quickly thinking about what's in a cable can't account for it being a distortion generator. Its always the stuff we fail to think about, the EMI/RFI, grounding with multiple pieces of equipment, etc. In a real world environment things interact in ways that weren't planned for, and sources of problems exist that haven't been brought to mind. That doesn't mean we should jump to conclusions swapping a cable can't affect sound. It can. Not that cable is a distortion generator, but something is a distortion generator and it's possibly complicated mechanism is somehow correlated/influenced with cable choices.
I came across an amazing device, the 5GBioShield, which uses “proprietary quantum holographic nano-layer catalyst technology” to provide “remediation from all harmful radiation, electro-smog, and biohazard pollution.” The device performs “balance and harmonization of the harmful effects of imbalanced electric radiation.” The maker’s website further advises that the “nano-layer operating diameter is either 8 or 40 meters.”
Wow! It only costs $355! Dissection shows it to be a standard 128MB USB flash drive, with a black sticker which must do the magic absorption. I wonder if it removes RFI from audio devices as well?
Remember P.T Barnum!

That is sooo last week Howie 😛
LOLOL I try to stay away from news, this one popped up in an EETimes blog.
Cheers!

Holy hell that is a twelve-dollar sack of crap right there.

Here’s the BBC report on it
Trading Standards squad targets anti-5G USB stick - BBC News
Trading standards in a London are seeking to ban it in the UK.
Funny how ‘quantum’ ‘holographic’ and ‘nano’ keep coming up in these technology scams.

I particularly like the sound of a nanosphere complex
But but but...it works: "Mr Hall said his remarks in Glastonbury Town Council's 5G Advisory Committee report should not be seen as a recommendation to buy the product"...But he had no regrets about buying it and since plugging it in had felt beneficial effects, including being able to sleep through the night and having more dreams.
What price sleep? Perhaps he was sleeping on a fat wallet, and spending all of it on this USB flash drive made it thinner...ergo, better sleep? Or maybe just believing it was helping helped (placebo effect).
What someone perceives in their own head is real to them, but not necessarily to anyone outside the aforementioned head.
Cheers,
Howie
Markw4 appears to have perceptive ears, unlike most of you out there.
