Very nice, your build is far better than anything I have seen in a long time. Components are perfectly spaced above the board. I hope it provides many years of enjoyment.

d1, d3 with a wire. Since I want to try different power supply options. Like the 21st century maida regulator.
Bas,
Great work! Would you mind sharing your Mouser BOM?
Thanks,
Greg

This is from the EL34 thread. The EL34 board has a higher bias voltage. Hence the higher value of R16. I'm thinking 15K is fine for the EL84 board with it's lower bias voltages.Changed R16 to 47K, Want to keep LED1 current to about 2mA, with higher -ve rail the original 15K was a bit low
On the BOM. You might want to check the WIKI where some updated resistor values are...to be safer regarding possible oscillations.
Baby Huey PP EL84 amplifier
I'll put them here also:
"R14 and R15 changed from 270R 2W to 1K 2W, past experience showed that EL34 in Ultralinear need 1K" ...often 1k is also used as screen stopper for EL84...ymmv.
"I didn't change R3 and R4 but if I had thought about them before loading I would have used 4K7 for just a bit more ECC83 parasitic oscillation proofing."

Thank you, Bas, for your posts on your build. Very helpful. I also noticed that you have already updated the BHEL84 WIKI with gingertubes suggestions he wrote just a few hours ago! Wow. Thanks for doing the WIKI also.
I’m looking forward to hearing your listening notes and observations on the performance of your BHEL84, especially compared to your Broskie “Uncommonly good EL84” amplifier.

You are welcome Francois. I'm a very frustrated man by the way...regarding listening etc....as I'm missing an output tranformer....its somewhere....
first world problems.

Hello Guys!
I have seen many Chinese kits and cadmium-iron clamp pcb connectors are also widely used in diyers.
How do these chandelier connectors come with your hi-fi ???
When gold-plated cables, sockets are a hit, is such an internal (practical 🙁 ) connector OK ???

I don't care for fancy cables. But I'll probably end up soldering signal in directly to the board. But power supply in for power.. Bias.. 6.3 in etc.. Even output transformer.. I'm fine with connectors.

Are you still searching 😉?
Bas,My mouser BOM is not complete. But this is what I ordered from mouser:

Thanks!
Baby and even more electron tube amplifiers have been made by me for years.
I haven’t finished one yet, but the classic Baby is in line. My hobby poisoned me. 🙂
I'm poor, I can't buy an output transformer. I have to make it.

The fact that you can make your own output transformer....priceless! I'm jealous!I'm poor, I can't buy an output transformer. I have to make it.
Yes. I suspect my wife might have put them somewhere in the Attic. Are you still searching ?

I found mine being used in the kitchen, being used as ballast on a pudding bowl for some Korean thing with cabbage in it.

In fact, according to my partner, this is an undocumented benefit of toroidal OPTs over traditional types. Something about the low centre of gravity and the wipe-clean black plastic tape ;-/

- Oh no...not another Baby Huey EL84 build.
