There are quite a few peer reviewed articles on the use of chlorine dioxide.
Copy and paste this search string in Google:
"chlorine dioxide" viruses pubmed
It shows that in watery solutions and at low concentration, the weak oxidant effectively kills bacteria and viruses. However once the micro-organisms have invaded the blood, chlorine dioxide is less effective (blood contains antioxidants). The effect of ingesting has been investigated as well, see Controlled Clinical Evaluations of Chlorine Dioxide, Chlorite and Chlorate in Man - PubMed

Ah, I didnt mean take the chlorine dioxide, like smoking pot or like the Arizona man who took on chloroquine phosphate. Sorry for any confusion and thanks for the link / search incentive.

I'm wondering if masking / cleaning with this clo2 stuff may be a workable alternative to ...something like simply being willing to die for the US economy.

Interesting all the DIY youtube videos on mask making. Watch for a run on air handler filters at HD and Lowes!

Worst is the total, negligent lack of planning and understanding by governments. But then, most of them are independently wealthy and/or will profit from any economic crash...

And most politicians study liberal arts subjects, many of which are a study of the ways in which previous, (and often devious) politicians have behaved in the past. Those subjects tend to lack intellectual rigour and disciplined decision making.

Well, made me laugh, anyway. Look, but sure don't touch! 😀

I don't think we should be playing a blame game here unless a particular hat fits some of our so-called experts:

Napoleon Bonaparte famously declared:

‘Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence.’

Hanlon's Razor: Relax, Not Everything is Out to Get You

This one interested me:

The German general Kurt von Hammerstein-Equord used Hanlon’s razor to assess his men, saying:

I divide my officers into four groups. There are clever, diligent, stupid, and lazy officers. Usually two characteristics are combined. Some are clever and diligent (...dutiful and conscientious)– their place is the General Staff (...The General Officers). The next lot are stupid and lazy – they make up 90 percent of every army and are suited to routine duties. Anyone who is both clever and lazy is qualified for the highest leadership duties, because he possesses the intellectual clarity and the composure necessary for difficult decisions. One must beware of anyone who is stupid and diligent – he must not be entrusted with any responsibility because he will always cause only mischief.

So we need Lazy but Clever people in charge. That's a surprise! 😱

Article on the BBC about tracking in Taiwan. Coronavirus: Under surveillance and confined at home in Taiwan - BBC News Now mobile triangulation is done all the time in the west but anonymised. In Taiwan clearly not. An interesting approach that would not fly round here.

I also note people are dying from taking 'remedies'. A number of Iranians have died of alcohol poisoning thinking it will protect them (around 200 now) and the couple in Florida who drank Cloroquine phosphate.

Could someone point me to anything refuting the claims of Torsten Engelbrecht in his book Virus Mania. In it he claims HIV, Sars, HPV etc are all inventions of the medical industry to make money. Complete conspiracy stuff but I can't find anything refuting it. It have been recommended it by a well meaning friend who needs to be pointed in the right direction.

I'm concerned about their situation, could turn really ugly anytime.

True but I think people realise how bad our public hospitals are, so they're mostly sticking to what the government wants, and I never thought I'd see us using hand sanitiser on the street, or be able to breathe freely. Our pollution levels have come down drastically, to the point where the weather is much better than it usually is.

It's not a curfew. It's a NDMA-enforced lockdown, which means if you have a valid reason (getting grocery or medicine, or are on the exempted list and working) you can step out. A curfew is when you are not allowed to step out of the house at all under any circumstances, and is usually for a shorter period.

NDMA is the National Disaster Management Act, which is enforced directly by the federal government, like e.g FEMA. This takes state-wise discretion out of the equation. Our projections were 1.5 million infected at R0=2.5 (I think) by mid-May, which can be reduced by 89% by isolation measures, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research.

Our problem is poverty. There are about 500 million people that depend on daily wages and though the governments have announced free foodgrains for them for the entire period and some financial assistance, delivery mechanisms are still a sore point with plenty of leakage.

Why not ask him to back it up with facts and figures? There's no limit on the number of active crackpots so refuting them all is not a realistic proposition.

He has quoted liberally from the book. Many apparent medical authority figures in agreement with the point of view expressed. It seems to have been a big seller for some time.

I just put it out here in case someone knew of a significant source refuting it.

The authors of Virus Mania, journalist Torsten Engelbrecht and doctor of internal medicine Claus Köhnlein, show that these alleged contagious viruses are, in fact, particles produced by the cells themselves as a consequence of certain stress factors such as drugs.
People like Torsten are living the dream. They generate an income whereby they are only taking money from gullible people. Just like I wish there would be a tv reality show about flat-earthers going on an expedition to find the edge of the world. I'd like to see a tv show where Torsten goes to an ebola infected community to prove us he is right.

There are those who pursue truth, and work diligently at a pursuit with great integrity, (signal), but of course are susceptible to error (noise), and there are those who don't take anything seriously enough to commit to anything much worthwhile, (hangers on).

There are those who conspire to manipulate and exploit the good done by others, and also those who describe much, including the latter, and even the former, as conspiracies.

Everything but the first group is noise to me.
