Replacing the power amp section is certainly an option but you would need to do your homework and see what other circuitry is on the original board.
The amp in your link is described incorrectly, it is not a digital amp, the TDA7293 is a normal class AB design. There are loads to choose from. Also look at LM3886 chip amps.
