That is good news. Don't know why people complain about the price of drivers, unless they are ridiculously inflated, I mean, how long are they going to last? How much does it cost to fill up the fuel tank in your car?
It sounds kinda like you insist on disagreeing with me, and that's fine, up to you of course.
I rather suspect Scott's MO for conversation is to start an argument.
I'm not "biased" as you insist, I'm only telling what I know.
We might disagree on a few things, but there's no denying the crap a service tech sees in his career.
More good news They do have tweeters in stock and they are $70 each.
Excellent! So you get a decent pair of speakers for a not terribly insane price.
Some people interpret questions that way. At least I don't insult people.I rather suspect Scott's MO for conversation is to start an argument.
A while, unless Mani turns up the volume to see how loud they can go!I mean, how long are they going to last?
Note to Mani - don't! 🙂

LOL... a fuse might be a good idea.
People who decide to "turn up" home stereo equipment for whatever reason obviously do not understand the limitations of said equipment.
They must think, in their common brains, that just because the volume knob freely goes UP to "10", that it's safe to do.
Consumer/home equipment was never designed for such abuse - it's not commecial duty equipment which was designed for such abuse.
And I don't care if you have a 300 watt/channel amp and enormous speakers bought through a store and manufactured for home use and decide to argue with me about how it "handles things".
And so, things will always "break down", and there will always be people wanting to know how to repair them.

Way back in my training days (late 1960s) when I asked about clipping, my teacher told me "The top half of the volume control is for quiet records"
I've got plastic basket drivers that are 20+ years old still in good alignment. While plastic can warp and change shape it's not a universal issue that all will succumb to.

I paid $500 I think very good price for focal 826v.

Thanks for the advise. I never go more than 50% of volume knob. It was previous owner who blew these tweeters. My only previous blown speakers were Defitive BP200tl. The amp was blown and I had to send them to definitive for repair.

Scott, I'm not saying driver prices are high, I'm saying price is high for these kind of drivers.
I mean; there are much better constructed and better sounding tweeters sells for less than these. But if driver is specifically made for mass produced speaker we all think that's normal. For me, it's not.
I don't know how much I am paying to fill up my tank btw 🙂
@Starbender ...
Mani is kind of hooped on this one. It looks like those tweeters were custom made for the metal frame on his speakers. It's not like he could put something else in there, even if he wanted to. So he's kind of stuck with the $70 price tag.

Judging from the cavity that they sit in, I'd say that there are several possible and suitable replacements for those little tweeters.
A measurement of the inside diameter of the cavity and some checking around would reveal this.
Parts Express has several small tweeters, as do other parts sites.

But a mechanical replacement does not ensure that it is compatible in your specs with the original, therein lies the real problem. A person with carpentry skills can host virtually any tweeter there, but what about the integration of the tweeter in the crossover network with the midwoofer?
And, importantly, the aesthetics must be maintained. Mani is unlikely to want to turn this finely sculpted tower into a dog's breakfast!

😀
That is a personal decision, but it would be a shame, beyond everything discussed here, it is a good cabinet and with good reviews.
I have read something that has low impedance problems around 100 Hz, so perhaps the original owner spoiled them for using them with an inappropriate amplifier.
Mani, find out a little before connecting them again if you decide to spend your money!
What should I find out? Which amp to use? I don't understand.😀

I completely agree with you. But I am here at the mercy of Focal. If they don't have tweeters in stock, I may try something different. But they do have in stock. So I will go with original tweeters. My only concern is how will they sound. Because I have not heard them before.
