I used Weller WP60s on the road for many years, with tips of various sizes and temperatures. As the price increased fairly steeply (while the quality dropped), my loyalty waned.
When both the main and backup irons failed on the same road trip, I wound up buying a cheap Weller SP40 at a local hardware store. I liked the built-in LEDs in the head, but it soon became obvious that the thing runs too hot - the tips were turning blue and rotting out very quickly.
Haven't had time to shop for a decent replacement, so for now I've just added one of those inline table lamp dimmers, set to a voltage that allows proper temp for the work without blowing through tips. Of course the LEDs aren't as bright, but they still produce useful illumination. If I have a bigger job (like P-to-P instead of PC) I just plug it straight in.

Snagged a couple more WD 4TB drives on sale at Best Buy this week.
If anyone told me ten years ago I'd be looking at 24 TB of storage (with a full backup server), I'd have told them they were nuts.

Almost 20 years ago at a place of work we broke the TB barrier on our SAN, at the time it was one of the largest in the country...
Wallet opened wide for 2 new booster seats. Mrs leadbelly insisted on the brand name with safety features surpassing legal requirements. My younger one recently outgrew her baby seat, which precipitated realizing my older one's seat had expired. Ouch!
Countersink bit. I know I’ve got one there somewhere but damned if I can see it 🙂
Finishing off my hand tooled ACA chassis.

Hi ubergeeknz,
The best one is the Edsyn

It arrived and it got christened.. oh my goodness what a difference. Tool vs toy. The old sucker (although I've had it for 20+ years) is absolutely hopeless compared with the Soldapullt. This thing sucks like a deranged .. err .. sucky thing
This universal vice also arrived. Another thing I cannot believe I went without for so long. I've already used it at least 10 times for holding different things.
The workbench is becoming an even happier place [emoji28]

I just nailed down some Semelab n-channel and p-channel TO-3 lateral fets at a decent price. I have a lot of heat sinks drilled for TO-3 packages, so they'll come in handy.
PIC32MX230 microcontroller for my USB scope project.
Apparently cant buy PDIP PIC32MX220's any more with reputable dealers.

Exicon and Profusion are about only reputable dealers left.
Expect to pay through the nose for them.
I know, Exicon and Profusion are one in the same, they told me. the plastic ones are not so bad.
I bought $60 of gearbox oil online that appeared to be correct, however upon further examination, it does not meet the specifications required...
Can’t win them all I guess.

As the Irish would say "Whale oil beef......"
Haha! That’s it...
Data sheet said it was a replacement for the following list of oils, which all carried GL-4 approvals.
However, the stuff just didn’t have the approval itself.
Digging further, a concerned consumer did an analysis of the product and found no traces of the commonly used additives, which would indicate the missing rating.
Snake oil, as they say...

Nothing unusual lately. Oil filters, mink oil, JIS #2 screwdriver, Pozidriv #2 screwdriver, 18" breaker bar.
I got a miniDSP in the mailbox yesterday, along with some component level items for another project (diodes, comparators, op-amps, cmos 555. Have to wait for the SO8 adapters to arrive, before they can hit the proto board...)
Ordered some sets of PCBs from China (to my design):
VCO
VCF
ADSR
VCA
LF
and a special PCB for my 32-step sequenzer.
