Comparison of measured acoustic output of amp that has "just enough distortion to have a characteristic 'wide and deep' sound field on everything played thru it" to another amp that "measured highly accurate" wrt. voltage output.
Reason I am interested is because your 0R22 resistor on speaker return that reduce woofer distortion would have an effect on measured distortion wrt. voltage output as well.
Uh. How about you do it instead?

My question was :Uh. How about you do it instead?
Seems you have not. I did not ask you to make new measurement.Have you compared measurement on the acoustic side?
One of my big concern is about PSU leakages. Using totally isolated PSUs (battery) when two gears are connected together often gave-me huge improvements on the listenings. The biggest difference between the Vendetta and the Constellation is balanced input vs unbalanced input. Unbalanced is quieter (for self noise) and simpler. I prefer it.
Using real balanced connections (floating, transfos) as well. But i dislike line transfos: the all destroy some micro dynamic I like.
I never found balanced by electronic ones as good neither. Poor common mode rejection at HF.
In fact, I think, at the end, that the best solution should be to use all in one integrated electronics.
Optical paths for digital sources, DACs, preamps and Power amps in the same chassis with careful star grounding.
It seems it is more and more the path that hifi manufacturers are taking. (Dimitry is on the move ;-).
One thing amaze me, AC toroidal transformers are everywhere. Why ? C cores are so much better to isolate capacitive coupling to the AC junk.
I think that, in all our attempts to get more transparent reproduction, lot more than harmonic distortions, all focus should be taken on IM, and specially the effects of all the HF parasitic signals on it: Feedback artifacts with class AB, sample frequencies leakings of digital, AC parasitic signal leaks etc.
I note, for the ones that are focused on measurements, that trying to evaluate IM measuring the effects of two constant sinusoidal signals near 20Khz is far from the real situation: Constantly changing musical signal with constantly changing HF parasitic signals.

Crazy, I suppose if there are few suckers that will pay that much, it makes sense to rip them off big time. However the Constellation phono stages cost between $30,000 and $85,000, too much for my budget.
For manufacturers, probably (except for star grounding), for DIY, definitely not.In fact, I think, at the end, that the best solution should be to use all in one integrated electronics.

I dont understand the question. It is too vague for me.
which amp or which speaker or what measurment??
Maybe this will help you --- ?
The motional fb works best with a high gnfb VFA amp.
The small reduction in thd is off-set by large %-age reduction in acoustic distortion at bass freq,.
My comment on sound of the ML distortion is not related to motional feedback.

Too vague? Like your erroneous use of the term motional feedback in this context, it's little surprise you don't understand.I dont understand the question. It is too vague for me.

There are a LOT of people whom that is not much money to them. 10 years ago, a Kong Kong Hi-End importer said he could not sell my PA because it would not be considered a serious effort until the Amp was at least 40K USD ! Wealthy people did not listen and compare. They are too busy to do that. he just expects his dealer to know that and send him the best one. Cost really is not an issue.
In S.Arabia, many years ago a similar meeting with wealthy man... he was given choice of 2 phono cartridges at his new home. He just said which one is the best. That one. OK then I want that one. And, dont ever ask me that question again! Just give me the best.
Having said that, I doubt if any wealthy people read this or are into DIY. Really, I dont think so.
What you think is a lot of money is simply a value judgement that not all share.

"Value judgement"? Good one 🙄 I'm well aware there are people with more money than sense, thanks anyway for enlightening me 🙂What you think is a lot of money is simply a value judgement that not all share.
It is all right Richard, don't worry. No problem.I dont understand the question. It is too vague for me. ...

Once upon a time, there was a record store in Geneva with a very special sales guy: you could tell him: "I heard this tune on the radio...", whistle something, and he would hand you the exact record. He had a repeat customer who would come in every month and say: "Give me half a dozen of the stuff that I like" and walked out the door a happy man.
Sadly, this specie is extinct.
I wonder why you call very rich people "suckers". The money they have do not say anything of their human qualities.Crazy, I suppose if there are few suckers that will pay that much, it makes sense to rip them off big time.
As I'm very rich myself, I spend more time in private jets than cars, yachts, rented exclusive houses and five stars hostels than in one of my domains. For several reasons: it is easier, and, with age, I tend to forget some of my houses.
Life is not so easy, for us, as we have to suffer all this jealousy from ordinary people. So, we tend to leave between us in another world organised for us.
The people we met daily in it are not necessarily the most interesting in the world. Life is not so easy.
One thing you'll have to understand, is "ripping" us is not so easy neither. The money asked for a Constellation phono stage is just, for me, some kind of a tip. May-be I have one of them in one of my homes, but it is not for me, I never listen to hifi. It is for my guests. When I want to listen to music, I order the real group of artists. There is nothing better and more accurate than the real thing
BTW: I never go on internet, and I'm not even able to use a computer. I have people that do this for me. But a friend told me, recently, that it is very funny.
Oh, may-be you heard about him, his name is Captain Haddock. He is "amazing".

I didn't 🙂 My father was doing some building work for a customer and he'd forgotten his hammer, he asked the customer if he had one he could borrow, the customer said "What would I want with a hammer?" 🙂I wonder why you call very rich people "suckers".

somehow, i managed to figure out what was going on and what to do and do it and measure the results and it worked as i thought. And, I managed to do it without your help! It must have been some sort of miracle.

Mmm, maybe, or you could have read a historical document. You could blame the use of erroneous terms on that....😉
Sorry, but what is a hammer ?I didn't 🙂 My father was doing some building work for a customer and he'd forgotten his hammer, he asked the customer if he had one he could borrow, the customer said "What would I want with a hammer?" 🙂
Its just in how you want to define it... like is it vfa or cfa? It still needs the motion of the driver to generate a voltage and current to be sensed. And deal with the counter emf.
Dont fret your mind over terminology.
