I would hope that one acquires art that they enjoy as much of it is difficult to modify after creation. Things requiring in-house playback give you a bunch of knobs to tweak. If one likes a lime green tinge to all his/her movies, there's nothing stopping one from playing with the settings on one's TV. Same for music. And there's nothing to say that sighted and unsighted preferences have to be the same either (I think Toole talks about this?), as we ultimately consume music with all senses and context.
I'd like to think I've gotten better about tuning out the whole verbiage where people state their own perspective as if it were the unequivocal Truth with a capital T. I know for me the act of sitting down to listen to music deliberately affects my enjoyment of the music far far more than the medium used to deliver the music (e.g. stereo at home vs a few quiet minutes during lunch with my phone and earbuds). Everyone has their flavor.

Actually audio files dont travel anywhere, unless you take the usb stick on the bus. Transfereing a word document, is the old testament large enough? Or an audio file both transfer at the same speed xxMB/s. We are not talking about playback, just storage and transfers/copies. And word files is just one example, what about 10gig of a game, do those bits change depending on what kind of storage they are on? Ridiculous.

I particularly like the pieces of record placed inside equipment to give that vinyl sound, thinking of getting hold of some shellac to put inside my CD player to give Jelly Roll a more authentic sound.

I suppose this is what I'm driving at, what someone finds pleasurable or takes enjoyment in at any particular moment in time isn't necessarily pleasant, if you get my drift, Munch's The Scream for example or the works of Francis Bacon. To my mind there are musical equivalents, but often they are dismissed as just noise or non musical, like any art it shouldn't be restricted because isn't the idea to reflect human experience?

On the digital side if the signal meets certain minimums it will have the data extracted flawlessly (maybe 1 bit error per trillion?). If the data stream also carries clock then there is more room for trouble but even that can be effectively cured to thresholds orders of magnitude below any plausible audibility.
I have designed several products with fully digital amplifiers, all the way to the final connection to the drivers. Today you can get some genuinely good digital amps with onboard DSP for $1-$2 making them the go to choice for portable audio. Convincing audiophiles that anything like that could possibly be good is a challenge beyond human endurance. The same as trying to explain that the file the vinyl disk was made from is actually cheaper to buy and higher fidelity.
Well, he says he hears well. But there is strong evidence that he make up things, like in the Memorygate incident. There is zero proof that he actually hears what he claims he do. All probably "experienced" in solitude - in the convenience of hes private goop-lab.

There’s notable differences on my system with the same digital file depending on how you get it there. Native tidal, tidal through Roon, tidal through airplay, tidal through chrome cast audio, all have a slightly different sound yet all the same ones and zeros no?
I happen to prefer tidal through Roon.....is there an explanation for that?

And just to say it again, bi- or tri-amped solutions are best. Keep "crossover" filters at low level and under very controlled impedance conditions, cables carrying power audio to near zero length - if that's a problem you think you have.... Much better.
