I use a matched pair of 2N4403s glued together using thermal adhesive.
Very successful as they track perfectly with temperature changes.

If you clamp them together ident to ident, (the flat front) hook one emitter wire around the other to produce a single wire for connecting. I like the 2N4403 because I don't have to worry about the pin out as it is printed on the front of the transistor. (Must be an age thing).
Make a note of the pin outs before tie wrapping and gluing them together.
