I have the 2169h with the phaseplug mounted in an Autotech Seos 24-4. It can cover 250-2250 hz with high SQ.
The one is a comression driver, the other is a cone driver. The horn/driver combination got a better control of the dispersion. You can put the cone into a horn too. What's 'better' depends on what you're planning to do.
The 2169 is an 8-inch cone-driver made for horn-usage, and with a JBL phaseplug giving it a 4-inch exit. The Seos horn is made specifically for the driver. If you want something for domestic use and can live with a pass band of 250–2250ish, then it is quite good.
Horn size= 77x41 cm

Thanks to all.
Im interested, who owned both drivers? And what better on practic, not only nude theory?
Im not found compared review.

Again: What's better depends on what you're doing with it. What do you want to do with them?
Im planning to build infinity or open baffle low range section, cone driver multiple, high sensitivity,Again: What's better depends on what you're doing with it. What do you want to do with them?
so im needed of high SQL mid and high section.
Also i look to BMS 4599, great coax driver, but review for SQ not very good.
What you say, your`s opinion?

TBH, neither. I'd use the Celestion Axi2050 coax driver, if it's finally available. There is a thread about it here in the forum.
If I only had to chose between the two JBL, I'd probably use the 2490h since you've got a lot more options for horns than for the cone driver. I also expect it to sound better.
Kashtan, what do you think about separate tweeter?.. 😉
Maybe ionophon on NE555, or tubes. Hornes from 1A20.

Thank you.
But this curves says, cone driver better as much low and loudest.

The red one is the compression driver (2490H), and it's clearly much more linear without equalizing. The 2169h is louder below 1kHz, but it isn't above the 1k. The cone driver needs a very good set up dsp, the 2490H can be crossed over passive. You can't use either of these below 300Hz because the distortion is too high below that.
That's not the point. CTC distance will be large or huge.Maybe ionophon on NE555, or tubes. Hornes from 1A20.
Or you can 😕 place tweeter horn in mid horn..
Thank you.

Weird.
That doesn't match with my result.
JBL 2169 in 445024 horn with adapter.
SQ?
The best that I ever herd.
Compared it to RCF l10750yk, other JBLs, Altec 416, couple B&C 10s, Community M200 etc.

Other JBLs included 2190? This most important for me moment, no one compirision both (2169 and 2190) i`m don`t finding anywhere.

Very interesting!
what do you use for tweeter and at what frequency do you xo? CTC must be large. What's your experience with lobbing with that setup?
I have a pair of Axi2050, and they are not coax. 😉TBH, neither. I'd use the Celestion Axi2050 coax driver, if it's finally available. There is a thread about it here in the forum.

Yes, you are right. Sorry for the misinformation.
