The flash LED in a phone is capable of one bright flash (a single pulse) but the flashlight app in the same phone must be quite a bit dimmer to avoid melting the LED chip.
If the LED is run at a given brightness, is should make no difference how it got there (PWM'ed DC or a lower voltage constant DC). In reality the PWM mode subjects the LED chip to much higher current in pulses, so the resistive losses may be higher. PWM is cheaper an reduces the losses in the power supply as compared to a linear voltage drop (resistor or pass transistor). That's why its cheaper and most often used.

Thanks for posting those. I listened thru several times and can't say that anything jumps out at me. A slight impression that the loop files are a bit warmer and have less ambience than the original, almost like a high bitrate MP3. But I would not place money on me picking them out in a blind test.

This selection is not so indicative of the differences that are more evident in other music, particularly rock.
Also the soundcard itself is treated internally which serves to alter all the recordings and so the cable differences are somewhat diminished.
Rightmark reports essentially zero differences between cables, but on my big system the differences are clear, with ferrite displaying least difference between loopback recordings but still audible.
Pano, suggest a favourite track and I will run the loopbacks and post to dropbox.

That's the ground.....dig a hole, and line it with a suitable material, to keep it rectangular. I went for some cinder block, concrete and steel. Then you make a nice wood cover, say some pine with a hardwood veneer on the top side......now instead of attempting to connect said box to your system, put your system, and yourself INSIDE the ground box. I call mine a basement.
