Tube amp for a PL/FW fan

I guess method #2 in manual would have worked better, flea to mid/high and F4 on bass bin. I was deluded by false magic of a 25 watt 45 amp. A sweet, but unattainable goal. In short Flea 45 wont drive F4! ( to full output anyway) Title in #3 did say "to higher current" afterall....

This is the part that sucked me into thinking that:

There will be occasions where the loudspeaker load is too low for optimal
performance from a fl ea watt, and in this case you can consider F4’s for the
purpose of getting as much as 100 watts into 2 ohms per mono-block. In this
arrangement you can also load the fl ea watt amp (not shown here) with a
resistive or other load which elicits the best performance from it.

I just missed the reality boat and assumed..

Thanks again,

no , what I meant is real preamp , not power amp used as pre-F4 amp

almost any , even most mediocre ( and believe me - majority of them are) tube line stages are capable of throwing out 45Vpp in mild load

and F4 input is mild load

however , I was really intrigued with Dennis's question form post 1 , amused with idea of finding tube analog to FW approach

in car world that would be , say , some small race Ferrari from 50-s , or some small 1L race Fiat from same era

in knife world that would be No.8 Opinel

etc.
