Just think of it as a virus/flu update/patch process for your immune system to have to hang around others in the hospital waiting room.

My mum has been having health issues lately, water buildup as a result of medication problems (she is diabetic) is causing her to feel breathless while walking around, she is improving though every day which is good. We have also been very busy cleaning up the house (me and family friends) and I haven't had any time at all for any of my projects, I barely have enough time to do laundry and clean out my aquarium. I have to do 100% of the things that she usually does around the house, at least I hope her health issues won't last that long and she can start doing things for herself again. Basically if she needs a cup of tea made for her I have to do it for her, if she needs her dinner heated, I've gotta do it for her, she can barely walk and sit down and have showers. Anyway, it will all cure up eventually I'm sure of it, she has been to the doctors, her grandmother is very old in her 90s so my mum (in her 60s) is more than capable of living a long life, she just needs determination, willpower, and a lack of belly fat to accomplish it, and she will get all the help she needs from us.

In more on-topic news, I've recently bought some pots and have been trying to grow various veggies in the back yard. I completed my Ryzen build and I've been experimenting around with oil stoves made out of coke cans using a small wick. I also bought a alcohol spirit stove that uses a wick (much safer than the other types): DENTAL LAB JEWELERS ALCOHOL SPIRIT LAMP BUNSEN STOVE BURNER FLAME WITH WICK | eBay

Oh yeah I've also been buying a lot of seeds. Tiny Tim Tomatoes (Grows as a bush, not as a vine), Roma Tomatoes, Jalapeno Chilli (Traditional type) to name a few, I cannot access the list of what I've bought right now, might update at a later date.

Cheerio and Good luck everyone, good health to all. TheGimp, get well dude, don't buy the farm just yet.

Hmmm, is this thread morphing into health updates? The closest I can come is that my MIL saw 2 specialists on Halloween, got a bunch of heart meds from a cardiologist and put on the knee replacement list by an orthopaedic surgeon. Believe it or not she was happy after that because things were getting addressed.

Only things I am buying recently are related to putting GPS and back up camera in Corvette. Bought these little 2 pin waterproof connectors and a few bare USB charger boards.

This postal strike in Canada is making delivery from China even more uncertain than it normally is, which is already high. Some ebay sellers are trying to take advantage, using it to cancel sales that were discounted. Luckily my purchases are too small to get worked up about.

Stuff for Thanksgiving dinner.

Dinner is going to be:
oven baked Turkey Breast ( what do they do with the rest?)
Mashed potatoes
Dressing (Corn Bread with celery, onions, and giblets)
Gravy
Sweet Potato casserole
Green bean casserole
Roles
Iced Tea

Pumpkin Pie with whipped cream
Pecan Pie

I guess this belongs in the food thread

Bit the bullet on a Sous Vide cooker.

After using it, I ordered a second one for my daughter for Christmas, as she asked me to bring mine for her to try.

Picked it up today - looks good.
Bought 4 packs of 135 (analogue) film for the Kiev as well as my LOMO K A. Also ordered a big bag of components for three synth modules from Elby-Design.

Way cool. I still occasionally buy film for my Nikon FE2 and Mamiya 645. Proper cameras.

I just signed on the dotted line for a shiny new Toyota 86 GTS in Apollo blue, complete with 17" alloy wheels and Brembo brakes. If I'm having a mid-life crisis it's a long one, as I've had a (red) Ducati for about 8 years now.

There's nothing like a real SLR
Ive casually gone through probably 5 or 6 36 exposure films since my youngest child was born, 18 months ago. Mainly Ilford B+W iso400 and one Lomo brand I can't recall. Got some lovely grainy, contrasty, first day on earth pictures using a Nikon Fg20 I picked up very cheap.
I take pictures everyday using digital device, but it's the film that makes the composition for me - no point and click, autofocus, autoexposure - it's a considered art.
I really want to start using the Super 8, time allowing

Today is Red Thursday in Canada at a store called Canadian Tire. It's not a tire store as such, it's an all round guy type store but they sell everything from automotive to outdoors to sports to seasonal to kitchen items and on and on.

Today people line up at 7am in the rain to get the best deals. For me it was:

2 winter coats
1 pair winter boots
1 dashcam
1 ice scraper
10 micro cloths
3 pairs of studded rubber ice grippers for shoes
1 flashlight

A few years ago I got a CT brand preasure washer as a christmas gift. 6 months later when it was warm enough to try it out I turned it on pulled the trigger bang the handle blew apart. Standing in the return line someone else came in the store with the same pw. What happened to yours I asked, the handle blew apart he said. The clerk informed use that returns could only be made in the first 3 months. But we could have them repaired well that repair lasted for about 10 minutes.
The pw was on sale at a 40% discount lesson learned thanks crappy tire for pawning off your defective junk in the season when nobody will use them.

Cheap electronic load from eBay

Got this cheap (20 euro) electronic load (i.e. constant current source) of eBay today.
I'm thinking to use it for PSU testing in place of having to make new resistive dummy loads for every new PSU and load:mad:
Works a charm:), but I will need to get a second one as I'm almost always dealing with bipolar supplies.
Load 0-30V, 60W max.
