Not too much porn with a simple switch 🙂
Added the L and H so I would know what setting is used, like it wouldn't be heard.

Wow! What's the Arduino controlling?
It does input switching and controlling the relay based stepped attenuator. The active input and volume level is shown on a display. Input and volume can be controlled via an ir remote control or a rotary encoder.
Second channel running as well. First impression... this is really good! I have used the UGS pre for a lot of years and made the balanced BA-3 so that I can just unplug the UGS modules and plug-in the BA-3 in the same pin headers. This will allow me to compare them a little more later.
After some more listening I think the balanced BA-3 will stay and the UGS will be retired. The only thing I am missing is some bass. After a little bit of thinking I think I know why. I have a ladder attenuator with input impedance between 2.2k and 10k after the Ba-3. The 10uF on the Ba-3 output and the attenuator input impedance will give a high pass filter with - 3dB point between 16 and 72 Hz. I will move the output caps to after the attenuator and see if that changes anything. The question is what to do with R12? I do not fully understand what it does? Should I move it also or keep it before the attenuator?
Having built the BA3 as preamp and the latest V1.6 ACA monobloc, currently running in unbalanced bridged mode. Very happy with the sound quality....and enjoying it for the past 2 weeks.
Has anyone tried using the BA3 Balance amp on the ACA V1.6 in XLR mode ?
Will the sound quality have mark improvement as compared to unbalanced BA3 mode ?
Very tempted to build a BA3 Balanced preamp.

I'd be interested too, especially if I could work through a build guide to understand what's involved to make it a reality.
I'm also on the look out for a balanced Aleph J build guide, if one exists?

The normal Aleph J guide IS the balanced guide, the only difference is you don’t jumper the -in to ground on the PCB.

Thanks 6L6 😉 - Love your work
Hi guys. I am building s BA3 and I have a serious issue. Although the ampl works, the gain board has only a gain of 5x only so when I plug in my phone to the input, I can hardly hear much coming out of the speaker. Any ideas? It's clipping at 44v p2p and the rails are +-40v dc.
It's all here. I am doing the zero feedback single ended version.

presuming that you didn't made some systematic mistake in resistor values, just increase value of R13 , until you're happy with voltage swing/gain

Thanks so much. I will try and report!

I can confirm that by putting a 2K resistor makes the game so much more. Thank you so much.
The other issue I have is that the the other issue i have is that the output port don't seem to be increasing the voltage going in. So the output ports in other words have no gain. There is 80 v DC on the rails but they clip at 40v peak to peak. Any more suggestions?
clarify
I can't follow you there
from where are your input JFets (origin , range) , did you have all parts values as per schematic?
