And you specialization is...?

Large scale project management. You surely know.... PERT charts, Critical path, Gantt charts, work flow, Risk assessment. Co-ordination, Time Lines. Stuff like that. The big picture view of ideas and concepts and getting it done in a timely fashion within budget thru the effective utilization of manpower resources.

Audio is just an interesting hobby because I like music. .

All clear... one of those specializations that require no formal education, no real technical skills, etc... and that are mostly flourishing under the governments umbrella.

Then it would be nice to avoid any electronics intrusions, or don't be surprised when people are flaking your knowledge (or lack, thereof).

I recently posted a reply to a contributor here; while I totally disagree with his conclusions regarding audibility of various voodoo audio stuff, I at least appreciate the lack of any attempt, intend or interest to battle physics as we know it. A rare breed, indeed. Saying "I like what I hear" is, in my book, fine; trying to justify subjective conclusions by some half baked (in the "high end audio expert" understanding) concepts like "high speed", "CFB", "high CMMR", "high slew rate", etc... not to mention crossing the "quantum" barrier, is not.

Hi Scott,
:)
I figured, but just thought I would throw that out there.

I often get people who want the latest internet modification done to their equipment. After some examination I often find serious faults with their gear and the deal I make with them is to allow me to fix it, then they listen and decide if they want to go further. Often there are red faces as they realise that their equipment sounded so poor that most forgo the "upgrades" as published on the internet. They are happier for it. I've also returned equipment to factory stock from a hack job to reveal a better sounding item.

What people think they can hear and their actual listening performance is often at odds with their belief system!

Waly…. You have no real idea at all what does into my work with EE/Physicist on getting thier experimental projects up and running. If you think they let just anyone run thier technical project development for them, you are sorely mistaken. I started in the technical side and when topped out, moved over to management side and ended up ranked #2 at LLNL out of hundreds of EE/ME project co-ordinators/managers in that type work.

None of that is applicable science to audio and consumer digital formats, CD players etc.

I forgive your ignorance as you might forgive mine.

Keep it to the audio/electronics here, pls.
