I just read the last project of Rod Elliot. Maybe it can be a useful reading.

By the way, polystyrene inside hot case is a bad idea.
What are you relating to I can, t understand. I read Elliot many times in the past 20 years , what are you referring at I use np0 and I use resistors better than 0.1 tolerance with measument. In the - feedback I like presision to last digit from a 100matt. Usully only 5 digits. I could use mouser 0.005 tolerance and 0.2ppm resistors but I think it's a overkill. For equipment tuning it suit better.
If you Don,t like the mains filter I presented and have a better solution feel free to enlighten me.

Ok, so It was a guide from you, so your education people by other site on internet.
Good start, but if you would to become a professor in the field you need to read thousands and that includes only a small fraction on on one subject.

Your tone and aggressiveness by far, sticks out among all the other posts to an overwhelmingly positive nature of these threads. For you to ask the moderators to block Maty T. is ridiculous! thank you for the pointing. I know this article. We´ve already the balance between costs and performance, but I´ll change some capacitors to NPO.

I´m not really satisfied with the VU-METER/FFT ADC to SPI frontend. I still need some braining.

The design is in standby, I need to finish some little helpers boards for my ACA, M2, F6, Mofo amplifiers.

I´ll change some capacitors to NPO.


The polystyrene film caps are very very good. The problem is the high temperature. I think they decompose from 70 or 90 degrees, I have to look for it.

630 Volt Polystyrene Audiophile Capacitors - on sale

Low dissipation factor and ESR.
High insulation resistance.
High stability of capacitance and DF vs temperature and frequency.
Operating Temperature: -40C to +85C.
That is why now they are only used mainly in phonos and to decouple. Also in some preamps. Or low poweramps.

What was a mistake, years ago, was its use in tube amplifiers, with the capacitors very close to the tubes. Always is a bad idea with any cap bad worse with these.

Bypass a cap in the speakers crossover is a very cheap audiophile way to tweak them. I liked so much in my KEF Q100 coaxial speakers (with cheap tweeter cap) that I decide do not to buy a more expensive Jantzen red to substitute the original.

not really my priority today as you know.


Photon board is nice but has not enough GPIO for this application. I´m using ESP-05 2 cents Chinese COTS board (AI-Thinker ESP8266 ESP-05 WiFi/WLAN Modul - Watterott electronic) with Arduino MICRO with Itead Nextion Display (Nextion HMI Solution - ITEAD Wiki).



I want to use the Blynk App (https://docs.blynk.cc/).



But still to clarify VU-Meter and FFT frontend: I´m finishing a testboard I´m using for ACA amplifier.


I´m right thinking some builders needs seconds delayed loudspeaker connection?
