I forgot to say: avoid braided cables - they are prone to pick up RF. Their main function is to impress visitors.

Canare 4S11 (11AWG - 2/4 conductors): (~$1.50/ft, I noticed some Ram Electronics 4S11 cable measurements here)
DC Resistance: 2.6 mohm/ft
Capacitance: 45 pF/ft
Inductance: <0.12 uH/ft
Kimber 8TC (10AWG): (~$6.00/ft)
DC Resistance: 2.19 mohm/ft
Capacitance: 100 pF/ft
Inductance: 0.037 uH/ft
Belden 10AWG: (~$0.75/ft bulk, as used in Blue Jeans cable's 5T00UP)
DC Resistance: <2 mohm/ft
Capacitance: 25 pF/ft
Inductance: ~0.16 uH/ft
Zip cord (12AWG): ("Sound King" measured here, ~$0.50/ft)
DC Resistance: <3.31 mohm/ft
Capacitance: ~15 pF/ft
Inductance: ~0.2 uH/ft

I would say the opposite.I forgot to say: avoid braided cables - they are prone to pick up RF. Their main function is to impress visitors.
Jim Brown recommends twisting (about the same effect as braiding) all multi-conductor cables to reduce RFI pick up.
@maty tinman, interesting enough the article did a direct comparison to the Belden cables I was looking at just a heavier gauge vs the bulk cable at parts-express.com. I already have Kimber 4pr for my front stage so it would be almost the same setup audioholics recommended in the conclusion. The bulk speaker wire Im most interested in is Belden 6100ue for about .40/ft
Maybe this is just what you (we) need : (cheap & reliable) 6moons audioreviews: Belden 9497
Well sorry for the reference, not a reliable source, but the others are not better : "the sigmas are extremly fast end detailed, bla..." Steve Plaskin's Listening Room | AudioStream

Sure they do. The max frequency might be a little lower, but so what. They don't cancel like twisting (I have a feeling of deja vu)
In the photo a few posts ago, I'm thinking of the part where both conductors are braided together not the tail to the connector.
How is it as effective as twisting?Sure they do. The max frequency might be a little lower, but so what.
Well, I have Kimber Kable 8PR (5.3 mm2) with my KEF Q100 coaxial speakers. I could not resist an offer that I found years ago, at 7 euros/meter.

I noticed a clear improvement in everything, especially with the bass. The old one was a 2.5 mm2 generic OFC.
I have VERY BIG problems at mains: DC, RF/EMI and high votage. And RF/EMI atmospheric too.
I think the cable geometry had something to do with it. Later I was adding a lot of Schaffner RF/EMI filters, Würth 150 kHz ferrites and DC blocker too.
How to clean the DC at mains. And ripple too.

Twist yes. Braid no. Well, braiding is better than leaving the wires loose and I guess it looks prettier than twisting, but twisting is better.Speedskater said:Jim Brown recommends twisting (about the same effect as braiding)
Interesting that of the four wires mentioned in post 24 the best is the second cheapest: lowest resistance, and reasonable capacitance and inductance.

It is the one that would buy now. But not bi-wared like Archimago with only one cable.
Star quad cables with speakers, interconnection and power is the best election I think.

Yes, star-quad sounds best in my system.

Star quad speaker cables reduce the emission of EMI but not the pick up, for that to work the termination needs to be balanced
