Since nobody has offered up another one, I'll try this.....another "crank it" tune from my record collection in the same time period:
"Pack your things and leave
Word of a woman who knows
Take all your gold and you go"
"Pack your things and leave
Word of a woman who knows
Take all your gold and you go"
from my record collection
I actually found this song on my hard drive where much of my music resides. The WAV file is 16/44, so it came from a CD, not a record. I rip vinyl at 24/96.
Blue Oyster Cult
Not BOC.
I saw BOC back in the day they had a huge green gas laser and a roadie rode it like a mechanical bull while it was aimed into the crowd. Even the reflections were blinding, I can't imagine being in the direct beam.
if Cal and Soundchaser are not going to make a new submission to keep things going i'll try this one:
I never meant to be so bad to you
One thing I said that I would never do
I never meant to be so bad to you
One thing I said that I would never do
googled or guessed? it seems there's a number of phone apps that can spoil the fun too, so my son tells me.
There was only one of the submissions above that I guessed without help from the search engine and I listened to lots of this music religiously back then. This last clue was the toughest yet so here's some more hints. It comes from a well respected band of musicians in the Zappa, Beefheart and early prog rock genre. The band had critical acclaim but paltry commercial success. I cheated to get this information so I won't solve this one.
Turk, I got yours right away as well. For whatever reason, we are hearing a resurgence of the tune around my parts. By nature I am a 'word' kind of guy so I remember a lot of lyrics.
Soundchaser, no problem, it's not that anyone has to complete both parts I don't think.

I don't recognize Kay's.
I don't either.

My guess would have been King Crimson, Caravan or early Genesis but I can't seem to connect with a particular song after listening to a few seconds of each or their songs on my hard drive.
Maybe Camel, Gentle Giant (neither has made it to my PC yet) Van der Graff or Renaissance (can't find the records).
Tubelab's getting warm... i know i "googled" that one, so yeah i won't reveal my cheat.
this one should be easy: Welcome back my friends
To the show that never ends

I have googled but I have not googled and posted a reply.

In a random thought, I dropped McDonald and Giles on the turntable and cranked it......haven't enjoyed this in a long time. Digging through old records has been temporarily suspended....

Yeah, I went to that concert......maybe 1974.

Hey, I liked them but only got to see them twice. On the other hand I have seen the Moody Blues at least 20 times from 1970 to about 2010.
