"Ignorance is bliss" says the old English proverb.
Actually Thomas Gray, Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College.
To each his sufferings: all are men, Condemned alike to groan;
The tender for another's pain,
The unfeeling for his own.
Yet ah! why should they know their fate?
Since sorrow never comes too late,
And happiness too swiftly flies.
Thought would destroy their paradise.
No more; where ignorance is bliss,
'Tis folly to be wise.
Has a slightly different meaning in context.
Need a better system
Ok, as my system isn't revealing enough (that means circuits are too stable and not easily screwed by differences in load? my cables are too short of parasitics??) I used a BNC cable to hook a signal generator to a scope and do a sweep from 1Hz to 1MHz, then changed direction of the cable and did the same sweep.
No difference.
So it seems Rohde&Schwarz and LeCroy are not good enogh and need engineering help from people who know how it's done. Or maybe I need to hook that egar up to a grounding box.
This is pigeon chess at it's finest.
Brilliant
Pigeon chess
Refers to having a pointless debate with somebody utterly ignorant of the subject matter, but standing on a dogmatic position that cannot be moved with any amount of education or logic, but who always proclaims victory.
Bill Whitlock did a page on why the shield needs to be connected at the driven end rather than at the receive end. But then, interference is rather situation specific.Seen that. The shield is only connected at one end. And even then, most of the time swapping ends will be inaudible.
Or said this way
Huh... And all these years I've thought it was spelled "pidgeon."
Learned something new, I did!
[ struts around the living room like Mick Jagger ]
I am with Dan (Max Headroom) on this. I have heard and even own a sample of wire directionality (my CTC Blowtorch) that I cannot emulate with just random wiring (I've tried), but to feed info like this to people who frequent this thread is a waste of time. Dan, keep up the good fight, but you have to realize that you are reasoning with the 'pitchfork wielding villagers' not people who want to learn something new.

Pig e on ? was going to post the sketch but couldn't get the link to work .Que?

And the High priest of audio nonsense speaks from his pulpit to encourage the believers.
I’ll wait for you to design wires that work right and let you explain.
The wires work right already. Look elsewhere for an explanation.
Wires which work just fine for all frequencies from DC to microwaves can be bought from shops. You just pick the wire which matches your requirement. No need for me to design any more.soongsc said:I’ll wait for you to design wires that work right and let you explain.
