Did you found the problem with flickering?Prasi it is your layout ,I was changing r12 to 3k9 and trimer to 10k. The bias is now 1300 mA. and it sound very good ,strong bass and nice mids and highs.
Roly the schematic is in post# 9551, the transistors are 2N5551 and 2N5401 SMD.
Layout in pdf in attached .
My board is the original Apex version and yes works well.no, I have not had time, and yours work well?
Yes 3 leds for signal plus one for power indicationwiths 4 leds, 3 signal and 1 power? my is 7 leds, 6 leds for signal an 1 power
A2 pre amp: Thanks to Apex, Terry, and Olaf, for very simple designs.
Forgive my inexperience: are the PCB showing a complete pre-amp for stereo, or just one channel.
What PS are people using, linear, laptop bricks, can it be used with 12V or 18V supplies.
Thanks for the help,
Myles

- all preamps are for stereo
- you need a power supply with positive and negative voltage from + -9V to + -15V
- linear devices are nice, do not use any switching power supplies without additional filtering

Mr. Miles,
Good Day!
Just a newbie question, how many max. output pairs recommended for AX-14 as per attached schematic without changes? Thanks for the reply.
Regards,
Willy
Go to post #915
I suggest use TEF for 2 pairs or more, and bias 30-50mA per pair.
Just try only..
