Allo USBridge
Hi Paul
Do you plan to add support to Picore player for the Allo USBridge?
I am LMS user and have recently purchased a MiniDSP which has USB input. I am hoping to stream to the RPi and bridge out to MiniDSP.
Cheers

I don't think allo ever released a driver for this.....if the device is even compatable with a rpi
This would be a question for Allo.

The USBridge does not work with an RPi, it comes as a complete package with a Sparky SBC:

The MiniDSP has spdif in doesn't it? If so you could use the Allo DigiOne board with a RPi.
I have gone with the USBridge with DietPi. This has a squeezelite option to runoff my LMS.
I wanted to avoid a dac before the DSP since the MiniDSP has toslink or USB or RCA.

- RPi Firmware Sept 14, 2017.
- Changed default governor to performance. This was accidentally dropped when we changed to 4.9.y kernels.
- Updated RPi wifi and bluetooth firmware. Fixes BroadPwn vulnerability.
- Updated to squeezelite 1.8.7-999.
- Updated Allo PianoPlus drivers.
- Add back missing hiface support. (Missing in 4.9.y kernels).
- Allow for spaces in remote network shares.
- Increased samba share path field length, and improved tool tips.
- Add support for exFat file systems.
- Fixed wifi SSID with spaces when using newconfig.cfg method.

I updated but now it doesn’t play dsf or dff files. 🙁
Hi onkal,
I haven't heard of any problem with this update, so can you check your squeezelite settings. Maybe one or 2 got reset.

Hi Greg,
I got reset but it doesn’t play.
It can be max sample rate.
I use pcm1704, I set up max sample rate.
I play dff and dsf this setup previouslu version.

Did an insitu upgrade to the latest version (standard - not audio). Seems ok.
However my rpi2 with wifi module has been unstable. Suddenly I loose contact with the rpi and have to restart it.
Anyone else experienced this? Using an el-cheapo atheros or so usb wifi module.

hi bambadoo
We haven't changed any of the wifi stuff with this release so I wouldn't expect anything to change from pCP3.21.
Use the wifi diagnostics to troubleshoot.
Go to [Wifi Settings] in [Beta] mode, then press [Diagnostics] button.
I use cheap Ralink 5370 USB wifi adaptor and others without majors issues.

Hi onkal,
I imagine there is a setting you need to reset, or an extra component installed to get it to work again.
I only use wav files myself so it might be better is you ask your question over at "Logitech Squeezebox forum". There are lots of expert users that will probably be able to help.

The diagnostics says everything is fine. (78% as before)
But it just keeps loosing connection and it doesn't reconnect by itself. Have to turn off and on power again.
It might be stable for 1 minute, 30 og 1 hour. Maybe 2.. maybe 3.
Trying to figure out if something has happened to my WLAN but no.
Also tried a new installation. Same issues.
Tried different USB ports and the issue remains.
Went back to cable. Everything is fine then.
Yes I am using a cheap Ralink also. Maybe it has had its days?

Can you do a full squeezelite update. From the web page. If that doesn’t work, we might need to get some logging.
Hi Paul123,
what would be your advice for a splitted PicorePlayer conf please (LMS on a stuff and the renderer on a Pi)
my goal is to go fast from folder to folder to playback! : I have a 600 Go Library, mainly .flac 1.2 & 1.3
I would like to avoid a true PC with Linux for Something like an Odroid C2 or an other Pi3 for LMS (to go fast again and avoid a standalone Pi3)
Is there options to allow or not oversampling on the fly without changing the bit depth (I have 95% red Book materials) in the menu system ?
I have an old Synology 210j but with limted LMS distro (7.4) and only 128 ram and 800 mHz single core ! So certainly better to make a DNLA server on a Pi or Odroid ?
regards and many thanks if any thoughts on this

We have many users running pcp with LMS on a Pi3, with media networked mounted. Quite a few users are just streaming music from spotify or other internet music streams, and the pi is more than adequate for that. Small devices like the pi3 or the odroid products are not going to have an ultra snappy web interface for browsing music.
I myself use a small Intel NUC running Ubuntu as my LMS server. If you have more than a few players, and want to do upsampling, then a little more powerful server is what you want.
There is not an easy way to turn on/off oversampling on the fly.
