It is inevitable that the high-end audio industry will get there first, as we know that audio engineers understand quantum mechanics much better than most physicists.
Wow! 😀
That new Bybee for sale is what I use to make my OPPO sound OK. It really works!
No it dosnt.
I would probably blame my aging ears, if you did such a thing. I live with what I have, and only try to tell audio differences with direct comparisons that I can keep track of. ABX testing also confuses me. Oh well, I am happier with the new Bybee, and I will keep it in the OPPO. I owned the OPPO for years and would NOT use is for musical listening pleasure, because it 'was not all that I wanted'. Now it provides as much as I need to appreciate my fairly large collection of digital sources.
By the way, I have no money invested in Bybee products or even the OPPO. Professional courtesy has given me these products to play with, along with a lot of my digital sources, CD, SACD and DVD, and now Blu-ray.
Of course for TV and general FM listening I use a more 'forgiving' system composed of a Parasound 1000 power amp, (like the one somebody is attempting to improve here on DIY), and a pair of Sequerra MET 7 speakers that are VERY FORGIVING. It is just like owning both a Japanese coupe and a German sports car, the Acura is best for going to the store, etc. . The Porsche for driving. If you don't know the difference, I feel sorry for you. '-)

Very forgiving indeed.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Nice to find included a list of audio-magazines not recommded for the average Joe like me 😀
I see measurements matter when the hat is on the other head.Very forgiving indeed.
😀
Listening right now to MET 7's through a T amp and my own phono stage, never better.
EDIT - These are the original MET 7's from 1977.

"How a $300,000 speaker is made"
So here I was minding my own business & what do I see on my financial channel, bloomberg.com ?
"How a $300,000 speaker is made"...Watching the dreamy video with the CEO of Oswalds Mill Audio spout off about, 'We are the only ones making conical horns...or the 'We are the only ones who do this type of woodwork....or comparing the "tonality" of his enclosures to that of Martin something something guitars, as if the two uses of wood were similar.
What a bunch of self righteous delusional baloney.

Knock on wood. I remember seeing ads for a place; you would send your standmount speakers there.
Some dude would drill through holes in them, then run coil rod through the cabinet to eliminate resonances.
My issue with the idea? How could it improve the sound, if the crossover wasn't adjusted?
Wasn't the speaker parameters, cabinets and crossovers, carefully tweaked to account for those resonances?

I have followed Weiss and his ramblings. These puff pieces in mainstream media often contain out of context statements. However, Weiss is truly odd and has had a fractious business relationship with Schick, for example. I would steer clear of anything with his odor on it.

I'd rather have the Honda; at least you know you will get back.It is just like owning both a Japanese coupe and a German sports car, the Acura is best for going to the store, etc. . The Porsche for driving. If you don't know the difference, I feel sorry for you. '-)
As for 'driving', it is a utilitarian function assumed by those with strange and fragile egos as being something they think they are good at but aren't.
Do you genuinely believe you have an understanding of quantum physics? Your posts on this forum tend to suggest otherwise.I once had a dental technician try to 'correct' my understanding of quantum physics -
I think I understood it better than the dental technician - at least partly because all he knew was the little I had tried to teach him. I realise that in the deep sense nobody understands quantum physics. However, I am pleased to hear that you have carefully read and considered all my posts on this forum and have been able to form a critical view of my ability as a physicist.
No, I think you miss the point. It takes noise on the ground wire and dissipates it in the internal quantum vacuum field in the box. It's like the sound of one hand clapping....
I have never really liked the one hand clapping analogy since someone pointed out to me that you CAN clap with one hand (fingers on palm).

This kind of smarts stands in the way of true enlightenment.

How about we break all your fingers? 😀
One would think that 'DF96' has about as good an understanding of quantum physics as most any member of this forum.Do you genuinely believe you have an understanding of quantum physics? Your posts on this forum tend to suggest otherwise.
Honda is a ""correct but a 'conservative' choice"". 😕 How so? Is a kind of obvious; most people prefer to invest on proved things like this.I'd rather have the Honda; at least you know you will get back.

But I only think if all os us think the same: all car will be Hondas or like, all room colors will be same because is better to eyes and mind and etc... Where are the tastes/personal preferences?
I really prefer to drive a sports car ("feels good 😉 "), but for every day I prefer a more mundane car. Only who like this will understand, because is a question of taste, and taste cannot be argued (but can be lamented 😛 )... SO thank god all car are NOT the same!
Who dare to measure this "sensation"? What the specs for this? 🙄
Well... 😀
Same thing with audio... unless one address the snake oil territory; is another problem, like I said before (for differentiating simple preferences versus false believing).
Of course, is only my opinion, and I just take this situation as an example about preferences.
