I built a couple of ESP P101 in past with Exicon mosfets.
I'm really happy with them. They are not cheap but i think it could value the extra cost, they are especially designed for audio applications in more modern times to replace the sk1058/sj162.

That depends to a great deal on the topology. In this amplifier I believe the ECX won't cause a noticeable sonic improvement in the LF spectrum. However, I must admit I have not used them so don't take my word for it. 🙂

These are vertical MOSFETs with G-D-S pinout. So unfortunately these won't work. We need MOSFETs with G-S-D pinouts.

UPDATE!!!

Assembled one channel and powered it up. A few minutes of trimming and that's it. Flawless operation with pure music and no ill effects. These "black-beauties" are ready to fly!!! 🙂

Using KSE340/350 at VAS, Panasonic M and Nippon Chemi-con SXE electrolytics and everything else pretty much same as before.
