Can someone please give a detailed explanation on how to remove the black hinge on the back of the SL-D2 turntable? I found this thread (http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/analogue-source/288216-how-remove-hinge-technics-turntable.html) but the explanation didn't work for me.
Also the bottom side of the hinge has a hole which appears to have a clip but I can't seem to get that to work and I don't want to force it.
What exactly am I trying to release?

I finally managed to remove them. For someone else who may need to know and for reference. Simply take a screw driver (or even a strong stick object) and from the hole underneath the hinges simply firmly push upwards. This will dislodge the spring hinges and they'll slide out from the top.

Came across your thread which helped me remove my SL-D2 hinge. Do you know where I can source a replacement? One of my hinges has lost its spring tension and that is enough for the dust cover not to stay open.
Thanks
