amazing the no-name stock on 24v looks great. just for grins i stocked up on the amps at $2.99.
thanks,great info.

Looks like stereo too ? Two double inductors and more parts at inputside ? That software program looks nice too, don't have to imagine the parts 🙂
Software: KiCAD
Board:
Most resistors at input-side are zero-ohm-jumpers for configuration in addition to the usual parts needed.

Up to 25W into 4R, okay.

The sudden dips in HD before rising are test equipement range switching or something like that? Smoothed that could be reason some TI graphs seem to go down at some points/regions?
Board data do look very good, around (above and below) EVM. The big difference heart when comparing on 4 ohm speakers playing loud but not very loud, like I said I think like 1 or 2 watt's (voltage test Pano), higher levels in peaks though, might be 3th harmonic.
It remains odd to see very potent inductor like XAL doesn't perform with audio.

The XAL inductors aren't suitable due to their material and construction. Inductors from different brand but same construction will perform the same.
They are best suited in DCDC applications.

Oh, a stereo version, rca/Phoenix screw, a little bigger, with "for audio" racetracks just like Japanese highend 😀
Nice ! If you have those made please have 1 made for me.
Sorry for the OT announcement - but wanted to let folks here know if anyone is looking for a simple but great sounding headamp, I have some nice ones here and comparisons with some SOA headamps both Class A and opamp based. With sound clips recorded from 270R resistive load.

Yes, at 1W they're all pretty close together. Will do a 10W measurement.
What test software is that?

Data from the TPA3251 inductor comparison by TI, look at the XAL1010 performance.

fwiw, some of those tiny parts are -really- close together. I would suggest a little more wiggle room (lol) for less precise manufacturing. and easier rework, if/when needed later.
It's intended to be like that. 0402 doesn't wiggle a lot. 🙂 Footprints are made to get stuffed that tight.
Very cool 🙂 Do you handsolder those tiny tiny parts ? What dual inductors are that ? Do you know when Coilcraft intend to produce the duals that TI EVM's have footprint for and that test very well ?
No handsoldering on this one - stencil + reflow. Inductor are the bigger Vishay dual inductors.
I asked Coilcraft two times, never got an answer.

Thank you doctormord for your great work at investigating the chips on cheap mono boards! To me the result was quite a surprise, but a very welcome one nevertheless.
interesting that the outcome of a thread about modding cheap boards is.... create a new board 🙂
PFFB has shown good results with TPA3251. Curious about what it will bring on this chip. Will this board be produced or just nice pictures ?

Dhl is bringing some pcb's and Fedex is bringing some Texas chips. After reception I check parts I have in stock and then order some I don't have and then I get headache from soldering 🙂 After that I may have an idea about pffb and tpa31xx.
