Here is an interesting simplified circuit for the 2sk180.
It does seem a little overkill to use a 300w part for an
amp in the 10 to 15 W range though doesn't it.

Why is the voltage 15v? Seems low considering Michael r. found a sweetspot with his 180's ~36vds.

(um, jfets can't handle 36v. so why use jfets?)

Yes is low i guess was design specially this way so they don't run hot and life time of use is around 30 K hours.
Is rare new component made for audio purpose.
Compact to be directly soldered on the pcb.
Just imagine this twin direct heated triodes together with jfet's ,
small signal semis or step-up autoformer gain stage in your front end or pre-amp.
Folks in Japan use Nutube into 15 watts chip amp's , headphone amps and regular tube amplifiers.
DHTriodes with SIT's or hockey puck mosfets that sci-fi today but who know Mr. Pass have them....
